Things started out well when they wanted my money. I signed in September. It is now almost May and I have had one match. If you are expecting some results from your investment, this may not be the place.

Kathleen, thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand your frustration and want to clarify a few important points. Matchmaking is a personalized, feedback-driven process that takes time, care, and patience to ensure quality introductions—not just quantity.
You’ve had one match so far, and while we always strive to move as quickly as possible, our priority is finding introductions that truly align with your preferences, not just matching for the sake of matching. Our goal is always quality over speed.
We're still actively working on your behalf and would love the opportunity to discuss your experience further and make any necessary adjustments to support your journey toward finding the right connection.

This Company is a Scam, Only Want Your Money
Do Not Sign A Contract With This Company!!!! They only want your money and will not fulfill their promises of finding you someone! The way it works is you get an interview with someone who is basically a salesperson and she tells you that they have plenty of people that meet your preferences and that it will be easy to set you up. You sign a contract and pay the agreed upon price for the agreed upon number of matches. Then they assign you a matchmaker who is not given all of the information about you that was collected in your initial interview. They introduce you to people that do not meet your preferences and when you complain to a manager they say “well you can’t plug in your preferences into a computer and pop out a person”. Basically contradicting what the salesperson at the initial interview process says to you. I’ve been set up with multiple men that didn’t meet my preferences or seriously had problems. Most were either socially awkward as in couldn’t carry a phone conversation, were blatantly rude, or just very creepy. The last person I was set up with was creepy to the point where I had to decline an in-person date with him and he started yelling at me over the phone. I ended up blocking his number after he tried to call me back multiple times. He ended up leaving threatening voicemails on my phone from a different phone number that were so severe I had to file a report to the police. My personal matchmaker with the company was very apologetic and caring over the situation, but the management at that company was completely unhelpful and extremely disrespectful. Larry the manager called me when I asked my matchmaker if I could get a refund due to this extreme situation, and told me no. He was not the slightest bit remorseful over the situation, interrupted me while I was talking to say it’s not his company’s fault, said I’m not getting any money back, and said the conversation was basically over. The company is clearly managed by a bunch of scammers who only care about getting your money and do not have any care for the satisfaction or safety of their clients.

Alexis, we take all client feedback seriously, especially when it involves concerns around safety. While we’re sorry to hear that you felt uncomfortable with one of your introductions, it's important to clarify that we addressed your concerns promptly and with care. Your matchmaker responded with urgency and empathy, and appropriate action was taken following the situation you described.
We also want to be clear that while we conduct thorough screenings, we cannot control individual behavior after introductions are made. However, when issues arise, we investigate them seriously—as we did in your case—and take swift steps to prevent future incidents.
Our service is built on a feedback-driven process, which requires honest input from both clients and introductions to refine matches. It's not about instantly “plugging in” preferences and generating a perfect partner. Real matchmaking takes time, collaboration, and open communication. That expectation is clearly outlined during enrollment.
The initial meeting you referenced is an informational session, not a guarantee. We never promise perfection—we promise personalized, thoughtful matchmaking, and we deliver on that by introducing clients to others who are also invested in the process.
If you would like to continue working toward a resolution, we’re open to that conversation. However, we stand by the professionalism of our team and the support provided throughout your time with us.

Scam.
I wish there was a way for the customers to connect and share this devastating experience because that is what we need after dealing with this company. I did not use ANYTHING AT ALL - Not a dollar from this company, was not able to cancel, now, me, a single mother trying to rebuild credit, have a collection of $2400 with no recourse. Thanks Matchmaking for damaging my credit when you provided me with NOTHING. What are you wanting that money for? Please explain. When all I did was be there, late night, and now I can recognize the scam techniques they used for me to sign up. The good reviews are probably fake - if not, let's see the faces or true stories.
Response from The Matchmaking CompanyApr 23, 2025
Myrian, we want to take a moment to clarify the details of your experience. After multiple outreach attempts with no response, your account was placed on a lack-of-contact hold. Unfortunately, your payment was not completed, and the account has since moved to collections.
As with any professional service, we’re unable to move forward without fulfilling the agreed-upon payment terms. Because the process was never able to begin, you didn’t experience the full scope of what we offer—including personalized matchmaking, coaching, and introductions.
We’re still happy to have a conversation if you’d like to revisit your options, but we hope this provides clarity around the situation and the steps that were taken.

They don’t respect the client’s wants and needs
I am sure how they have any high reviews but I don’t feel this company respects the fact you paid a lot a money for quality service. I signed up in December 2023 and the first matchmaker I worked with couldn’t even provide with a bio that includes certifications or credentials. At that point I was worried I made a mistake. One of the matches had been married 6 times and when I went back to the matchmaker she said that she was under the impression that he was married only 3 times. So they are not effectively vetting the matches. The next match I had told me he was not in a financial position to date. The other matches just opted not to meet. I understand that this is a process and it can take time but I have asked on several occasions to check in and just let me know they are still checking but it they don’t bother. At this point I am pretty disappointed and expect to get the same canned unempathetic response to this post as all of the other responses. I would had better luck on Facebook dating.
UPDATE: 4 months later after I got a response from my review. Nothing has changed. I have not heard anything from my matchmaker not even a general newsletter or any sort of correspondence.

One Star – Because Zero Wasn’t an Option
As a fun, attractive, 49-year-old mom of two, I didn’t think asking for a little effort in matchmaking was too much. But apparently, asking for effort is where The Matchmaking Company draws the line.
Let me be clear—I didn’t come here to rate the quality of my dates (though trust me, if I were, this review would include popcorn-worthy horror stories). No, this review is about something far worse than a bad date: bad customer service.
The first red flag? The high-pressure sales pitch that ended with me handing over $2,200 for 4 dates faster than I could say, “Wow, Desiree, that’s a lot of confident eye contact.” She promised thousands of high-quality men in Tucson just waiting to meet someone like me. Spoiler: they must all be hiding in an underground bunker, because I never met them.
Once they had my money, any pretense of professionalism disappeared faster than my matchmaker after signing day. No intro call. No questions about my values, goals, personality. Honestly, my Hinge profile has more thoughtful matching logic than this place.
I reached out within the first week to say, “Hey, maybe let’s talk about what I’m actually looking for?” But they ghosted harder than a bad Bumble date. When I asked to speak to a manager, they told me it would take at least a week. I guess customer service is booked solid ignoring other disappointed women?
My first match was a walking red flag who clearly had a frequent dater punch card with this company. (Two more matches and he gets a 10th date free!) The second was marginally better, but still not someone I’d imagine sharing a second drink with, let alone a life. The 3rd date didn't even want to meet up with me and bolted after an hour because he had to call his Dad?
Then, without warning, I was switched to a new matchmaker, Vanessa. We never had a real conversation—just a quick note that I had a new match. And plot twist: that match ghosted me before we even met. Turns out, he had declined the match altogether. I had to figure that out myself. If I wanted to feel rejected and confused, I'd just relive middle school and save myself $2,200.
Here’s the deal: this isn’t just a company that provides poor matchmaking. It’s a company that doesn’t care. They don’t learn about you, they don’t follow up, they don’t deliver on what they promise—and they absolutely will not refund you or admit fault. Because the one thing they do match consistently? Blame. It’s always yours.
So take it from me: stick to the dating apps. At least when things go wrong there, you haven’t signed a legally binding contract to be emotionally neglected. Plus, the guys online? Honestly—way better.

Hi Jana,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you feel disappointed with your experience; however, we would like to clarify a few key details for transparency.
First, we made multiple efforts to address your concerns directly and respectfully. When one of our team members reached out to you, the conversation began with you yelling at our staff member who was attempting to assist you. Despite our efforts to de-escalate and resolve the issue, your comments became increasingly unkind and insulting—not only toward our team, but toward other clients as well. For the safety and wellbeing of our staff, the call had to be disconnected.
You selected the smallest membership package we offer, which includes fewer introductions and services than our more comprehensive programs. Even within this limited scope, you completed feedback surveys after your introductions and rated your overall experience as “Average” each time—not consistent with the level of dissatisfaction you've now expressed.
We understand that matchmaking is a highly personal process and not every match will meet expectations. That said, respectful dialogue is essential for us to assist you effectively. Our team remains committed to providing a professional and ethical service, and we stand by the process we followed in your case.
We wish you the best in your continued search.

I paid them $7000
I paid them $7000. For 12 matches. I received five poor quality matches. They say they were going to call me never received a phone call. I’ve left them several messages. I have been ignored. I contacted the main office no reply.

STAY AWAY!
STAY AWAY!! They sell you the moon but give you a meteor rock. I cannot believe I fell for it and handed them thousands of dollars. I was asked what I am looking for and what my standards are i.e. location, age, so your "match maker" can match you with someone. However they always pushed the bounders and matched me with people who were over an hour away from me or a few years older than what I wanted to date. I am a tall person and prefer a taller partner, several of my matches were much shorter. Another down fall is almost everyone I was matched with, I was their first match. I felt like they were scrapping the bottom of the barrel because the client base was not there. So they matched you with who is available and not who you are "compatible" with.... They tell you they have this scientific method for matching people but in my experience, it feels like another lie they wrapped up in a bow to sell you.
During this process, I had several different match makes. The turn over was ridiculous. There was no direct way to talk with anyone, no one ever answered a phone call. I had to constantly leave voicemails and not even half got returned....
Such a waste and scam.

Horrible experience - stay away from matchmaking company
My experience could not have been more disappointing. The matches I had were completely opposite of what I had asked their team to screen for. I feel like they don't have a pool of candidates so they match you with whatever person happens to join. I had better luck and way more fun with online dating.
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. It was a BIG investment and they DO NOT FIX PROBLEMS OR REFUND MONEY. NO communications - I only had 4 dates in 6 months. I feel very scammed. You will be scammed too - don't do it.

Kathleen, we are disappointed to hear that you feel this way. Matchmaking is a personalized and feedback-driven process that takes time, and engagement is crucial to achieving success. Our team has worked hard to provide quality matches, and we understand that chemistry cannot always be guaranteed. We always encourage open communication so that we can refine matches based on your feedback.
According to our records, you placed your program on hold in February. We are here to support you in your matchmaking journey whenever you are ready to continue. We stand by our process and the effort our team puts into finding meaningful connections. We wish you the best in your dating journey.
