A problem with maps is that it can direct you down narrow country roads. Apart from annoying the locals with extra traffic, just to save a few minutes. It doesn't take much to start clogging these narrow roads up. If you get a couple of vans trying to pass each other - you have a problem.

It could be the best unbeatable app if it adds features from Waze ( showing speed while moving with speed limit ,exciting graphics, quick , showing some 3d maps ) Google have some best features which Waze don't have like the lane we need to use but some more features for unbeatable app.

I have to rate it average because I like the accurate locations maps but the places on google maps are not adjactly placed when we explore that area. Many hotels, offices, banks etc are placed in wrong places in maps which is kind of annoying while finding those places through maps. That's why I can't give it 5 stars. Hope It will get better soon in future.

Great service to look up locations, public places etc... Even for traffic information it's really useful. However the review system is not fair at all. Some reviews are never published, for no reason. Everybody is able to edit and add new places, so lots of spam and advertising is done in my city. Some edits take really really long to appear and some correct edits are just denied by Google. They used to have a great reward system for people who contributed (upload photos, edited information , etc..) but this is also been removed. So after all: good service but a lot of misinformation and no way to correct it.

Google Maps are a poor choice for cyclists in Central London. The routes direct the cyclist along circuitous, inefficient routes along busy, congested main roads choked with traffic whilst leafy, quiet direct routes are easily available. Yesterday, most of the route suggested was along horrible, polluted roads whilst using designated cycle paths in the Royal Parks was a much more direct route (I can't find a way of attaching the screenshot to demonstrate). Today, similarly, whilst the route suggested partially used cycle paths, it was very indirect and the roads shared with heavy lorries and a more direct route using cycle quietways was much quicker, safer and easier. I have found Google Maps good for some things, cycling is not one of them. I have attempted to leave feedback on the site but it was not possible due to over-control of input.
