It’s Lake Ontario, a proud indigenous name. Why would you change it? If the next President and the next and the next decide on a retaliatory name change are you just going to continue to capitulate. I have deleted Google Maps from all devices and will only use MapQuest or another company not willing to curry favor with this ridiculous administration. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Bunch of submissive, cowardly, spineless ass-kissers. Google SPRINTED to make this inaccurate and utterly brainless move. Boy, when authoritarians says "Jump!" Google really does say, "PLEASE OH PLEASE DADDY IS THIS HIGH ENOUGH FOR YOU???" Shame on Google. Google Maps has once again capitulated to the bully, as they did with Gulf of America, sadly, it's insulting to everyone, it's belittling Americans, it's without our consensus, and its on OUR dime IF we continue to use google maps - as such, it's time to move on from Google maps.

What went wrong? Google caved to the insane decision of the man whom we are supposed to call President with respect to his decision to rename Lake Ontario. If Google was paying attention to the executive order, it has no effect on any entity other than the federal government. SAD!!!!!

Google Maps illegally changed the name of Lake Ontario. An executive order only applies to employees of the executive branch - not private companies or people. Way to let the fascists win.

There isn't much good to say about this service. ROUTING I stopped using the app when I realized that I couldn't choose my own route and have the app stick to it. It would change without even telling me when I was on a motorcycle and could not do anything about it. This lead me into a bad part of town at dusk and in gravel (construction) to boot! I was a new rider and terrified. ETHICS I used to use it for reviews and when at home for planning, but not anymore. I cannot in good faith utilize a service that is changing International landmarks as per the psychotic whims of a fascist president. This is simply the last in a series of questionable ethical moves by Google. Just like the Search function, this service by Google is becoming more and more inconvenient and now landing itself on the wrong side of history. I am done.
