ZERO HELP - ZERO SUPPORT
Magnaflow Catted X-Pipe I purchased this setup just over two years ago for my 91 Fox Mustang GT. I bought this product for two reasons. First, the stock system is restrictive and was original (30 years is a long time on a stock system). The second reason was better performance since I was having the exhaust system redone anyway. I am now two months past the warranty, I have only put about 6000 miles on this system (the car is only driven in the summer) and one of the biscuits has come loose. Exhaust shop confirmed my suspicions, so I asked Magnaflow for help. I was given the "sorry, it's past the warranty so there's nothing we can do for you". I explained that this is a pleasure car, it only has a few thousand miles on it, but they are not willing to help in any way. Then they asked why I was replacing the stock setup, I told them I chose their product for the build quality and performance gain. Their reply was "the original should have lasted the life of the car, so there must be something else wrong, like a "too rich" or "too lean" situation, or burning oil". I was taken back by that. I chose to spend money on a Magnaflow product, and they told me the old one should have been fine. Aren't they in the biz to sell "performance" upgrades? So I learned something from my conversation with Magnaflow. If you go just beyond the warranty in time, but not in mileage, you are out of luck. Don't buy our product if your stock application is fine, regardless if there is a performance gain. Even after i told them the car was in great working order, we won't warranty a failure of our product, even though the stock system could handle it. This will be my last purchase of ANY Magnaflow products. I have a lot of other Fox Mustang buddies that have asked me about my setup. I will definitely inform them of my discussion with Magnaflow on this situation.
