Fraudsters?
Just like many other reviews, I have received an email stating that I have a Link account, when I have never set one up. I had never even heard of Link before. Why does this happen? And why do this to people? It's unethical practice and is extremely worrying. It seems there is then no way to delete your account without signing in, which is worrying to do because I don't want to put even more of my personal details into something I never set up. I have no idea how it has my details. I want to know exactly how it has my details, how an account was supposedly set up and get it deleted without me having to disclose even more details. It's all really worrying and makes me worry a lot about fraud. Looking at all the many other reviews you have to wonder, why the hell are they allowed to continue operating in this way?? It's just not right.

We’re sorry you received an unexpected Link email—that sounds very worrying. Link is a saved‑payment and checkout product merchants can offer to speed future purchases—it stores payment and contact details provided during a merchant’s checkout so subsequent checkouts require fewer steps—Link itself does not independently harvest card data. Because the merchant checkout flow is designed to be seamless, some users may not realise an account was created during a purchase. If you don’t want to add any more details, please do not enter anything on pages you don’t trust. To request deletion of any Link account tied to your email without signing in, use the "I can't login" option at https://support.link.com/contact/login?—explain you never created the account and attach the unexpected email or a screenshot if possible so the team can examine how the account was created and help remove it. If you suspect unauthorized charges, contact your bank immediately to dispute them and report the merchant via our lookup tool at https://support.stripe.com/questions/unknown-charge-from-stripe so Support can examine the transaction flow. We take concerns about unwanted accounts and potential fraud very seriously and will assist where we can — thank you for raising this with us.
