Lighting New YorkReviews of lightingnewyork.com

I ordered fixtures from them. The product description said they were LED lights. The lights that arrived were standard A19 screw in bulbs not LED. I sent them an email. They did not stand by the price and I returned them and reordered the correct ones at a higher price from a quote they gave me. Days later I was informed that the fixtures are discontinued and the order was cancelled.

Believe the one-star reviews and be skeptical of the rest. Lighting NY is a predatory company, claiming not to have restocking fees, but charging exorbitant fees for returns, simply under a different label. The customer service is unhelpful and condescending to the point of nastiness. Their skimpy discount in no way compensates for the monumental headache in dealing with Lighting NY's dishonesty and scheming. I plan to open a dispute via Amex. Avoid Lighting NY if you value your time and sanity.

Be aware of their cost games they play. Their discounts listed on the website are not accurate. It states there is a 25% discount but then they quote only a 20% discount, Also the exact same lamp was on another website at a lower cost and Lighting New York does not honor their price match policy. They did not offer 150% discount like their policy states. They only offered a 30% discount which still left the lamp more expensive than the competitors website.

LNY had a return policy that seemed reasonable so even though I didn’t know the company, I took a chance and purchased. Welp, jokes on me because they wouldn’t accept a return. The product page also wasn’t marked as final sale or non returnable - I guess they just *decided* they wouldn’t accept my return. The worst part? They wouldn’t work with me at all. I said I’d accept store credit and no dice. I also asked them to produce literally any language that suggested the item was nonreturnable and they went radio silent (because there was none).

Don’t buy anything from this company! I purchased a hanging fixture and it is defective, when you turn it on, sometimes is white light, sometimes it is yellow light and sometimes it is half yellow and half white. Each time you turn it off and on it changes. We called and was told that it is not supposed to do that. We returned it and they replaced it with one that would be tested first. The second one had the same problem. We paid the electrician to install the first one, then take it down and install the second one. Now they want me to have the electrician take down the second one and ship it back to them! At this point I paid for the fixture and paid the electrician more than the cost of the light!

This company is bogus. They take your money and never ship your product. I have emailed twice and now called 3 times. The ladies are so sweet, promise a call back, say they understand and NOTHING. Do NOT buy anything from this business.

positively deceptive. I bought a lamp on the grounds that it was in stock and would ship in 6 days. Now that they have my money, it's 6 weeks

Terrible experience. Purchased 2 ceiling fans on May 20th...put together one...it was poorly defective - manufactured. Blades didn't line up perfectly. Now they say i cannot return it. I'd steer clear of this horrible company
