I recently purchased a chandelier from Lighting Direct. When it arrived I installed it and when I tested it ,it did not work. I took it all down again and took it apart to find that nine runs of lamp cord were all tied together with a single wire nut. The wire was in a section that twisted as you installed it and all the loosely bound wires in this mess made in China had pulled out. I disposed of the $.01 wire nuts and connect the wires properly and safely (the loose wires had shorted during my initial test) and re-installed the whole light again. I was asked to write a review for lighting direct and I obliged by printing the experiences I just relayed and providing a bad rating for this product. After a few "we're sorry" and nothing more, I discovered they had not posted my review. When I asked they claimed an independent party chose what to post and they had no control. It was plainly apparent they did not want bad reviews posted, so they could continue to sell this defective product to other unsuspecting people. Avoid lighting Direct and the light manufacturer Golden Lighting.

I am on the tail end of remodeling my home and ordered a lamp from this site. The lamp didn't work out and I was informed I had to pay the shipping to return this product. The lamp cost $117.00. The cost of returning the lamp ended up being $89.00 because of the size of the box. Lightingdirect does not offer to cover return costs and I was informed I will be charged for the original shipping deducted from my refund upon receipt of the lamp. In all, I am spending more than the cost of the lamp to have tried it out. This is ridiculous and the only time in my entire remodel project (which included ordering fixtures and furniture from other sites) that I encountered this kind of customer service. They are not worth it. I do not recommend their company given this kind of business practice. There are other sites out there that will give you better customer service and truly care about customer satisfaction.

I would think twice before ordering anything from Lighting Direct. I found lighting that I wanted to order and called before I placed the order to ensure it was in stock. I was told that there were 146 lights available so I placed the order, it said would ship in 1-2 days. Well the lights did not ship in the 1-2 days so I called back on a Friday and was told that it was shipping on Monday morning. Well, Monday came and went and my order was not shipped. I called on Tuesday and was told that someone would look into the order and I would get an email in 1/2 hour. Well, that didn't happen so I called back. I was then informed that they never had any of these items in stock and that it had been discontinued. I questioned why I was told there were 146 and was told that they don't actually have the lights in stock (why say you do then) and that they were discontinued. I asked why does this item STILL show on the website as being available and why is someone allowed to place the order online if it was not in stock and was discontinued. The response was, "I understand your confusion." I am wondering why it is my confusion when the site allows it be ordered. I also asked when I was going to be informed that the lights were not in stock and I was told "probably sometime this week". What a joke! This was my one & only experience with Lighting Direct and I will never order from them again.
