Globo Gym
I have been a member of the Lifetime in Wayne, Pennsylvania for roughly a year and a half and just decided to cancel my membership. To start with, here are the good things: great equipment, generally nice floor staff, pretty clean, good class selection. The not so good: it is SO expensive and they keep increasing the price, even on existing members. Unless you use it daily and make use of the amenities (which I did for most of my time) it is very hard to justify. It has become very overcrowded to the point that during peak hours it is hard to get floor space, which in itself is a reality for a lot of gyms but still worth noting. For people that really want to workout, you can expect to change your workout to account for a lack of equipment availability. The only seated leg curl machine was also out of operation for about three months. There are a lot of ways that the gym feels corporate and focused on a mission of making the most money possible at the expense of member's experience. The 30 day cancellation policy is a final example of opportunistically gouging you because they can rather than just letting you go before the next billing period. In hindsight I really regret giving roughly $3600 to Globo Gym when I have had better experiences for so much less. I would not have felt the need to write this if they would have just let me go.
