You’ve ruined the Fre case with the new cover for the charging port. Proud owner of multiple cases over the year, willing to overlook how easily the front film becomes scratched to death because every time I’ve dropped one it’s survived. But the charging point cover is the last straw. Moving on to another case maker now.

I bought the FRE case for iPhone 8 a year ago but don’t believe that it is “LifeProof” at all. The first thing to go, after about 8 months was one of the small mic/speaker covers at the front of the case near the port. I work in water sports so the case being waterproof was really important to me, and losing this cover rendered the whole case useless in that sense. Customer support were no help. The plastic cover over the home button has also become detached, nearly peeling off and exposing the phone to dust and water. The rubber frame around the edge of the case has also peeled off a lot, which makes the case look worn. The only credit I can give this case is that it is completely drop proof, I have dropped/launched my phone from many heights on many surfaces and it has always been fine. Though this is arguably achievable with much cheaper cases. I am disappointed with LifeProof after hearing great things, and I’m sorry that I won’t be buying their products again.

I'm a long-time Lifeproof customer but my new Fre for Apple iPhone SE (second generation) doesn't live up to Lifeproof's performance claims or, in fact, the performance of my previous cases. It is not dust-proof, as claimed. I work in a dusty environment, which is why I chose this particular case. But I have to open the case weekly and clean the phone and case interior. When I do this, I'm noticing the gasket that makes the case waterproof starting to lose elasticity and slip out of its slot. It seems likely that if I have to open the case regularly, it's only a matter of time before the gasket fails. Also, the case interferes with Touch ID. I'm more willing to forgive that, but coupled with the other issues, it's a bummer.

There are 2 reasons I would not recommend LifeProof cases: 1. The quality of my photos have gone way down, there's almost like a 'fuzzy/blurry' quality to my photos because of the case. And yes, I will clean over my camera lens, a lot, and that does not help. 2. The material around the rim of the case is almost clay-like and what is happening with mine is that it is slowly peeling off and smearing all over my phone screen. I can confirm this was not from being in the sun but rather from being in my pocket, bag, etc. For a case that is considered "LifeProof" it should have more durability. I'm pretty bummed as I liked that the case is waterproof and not bulky but I do not want to compromise my photos or have smears all over my phone screen. Time to go back to Otterbox

Train trauma or alligator appetizer? Case isn't a month old and already cracked. Pretty sure I would remember stopping a train with it or pulling it out of an alligator. Sound quality is horrible and I am forced to resort to texting. It gets 2 stars because it passed the waterproof test and it has a silent button instead of the Ounne's tiny nubby knob made for elves.

Purchased the Fre for my S8. Six months since new in the tropics and the "rubber" has turned to mush. I can peel it off the frame with my fingernail. This means the rubber around buttons has failed so waterproofing is gone and the buttons either no longer work or will soon no longer work. The clear screen from the start scratched far too easily. Gave it an extra point because it will protect your phone if you drop it, but then again so will a case 1/10th the price.

Will last for 1 year then the film over the button will come away leaving it not waterproof. Waste of money, some much better cheaper alternatives out there!

Ærgeligt - for produktideen er go
