I sent a pair of frames in to have lenses made and put in. Its been a month and order tracker said my lenses were still being made. It had been a month. I contacted them and they were finished and sent back to me 1 minute after contacting Lens Direct to find out what was going on. That makes me think they were just sitting somewhere and when I contacted them they found them and mailed them to me. I also ordered a pair through my government insurence the same day. my government glasses were done over a week ago. This place takes longer than the US government to fill a order.I paid cash out of my pocket for my designer frames to be lensed Through Lens direct for $240.00, but my free government issued glasses were done way sooner and cheaper. I recieved my glasses today and they look and feel great. My only complaint is the long wait and I wonder how much longer it would taken had I not contacted them when my glasses were in the lenses are still being made phase over 3 weeks later

Shipment didn’t ship on time. Then I received someone else prescription. It was stated my order would be shipped overnight to get my order faster which never happened. 3 days later still no contacts. Terrible service.

I ordered lenses to be fitted to a frames which I provided to Lensdirect. I also ordered frames and lenses from EyeBuyDirect. Both pairs of glasses ended up being unsuitable for my eyes. EyeBuyDirect allowed me to change my order, simply and easily. They give you 2 weeks to get used to your new lenses and a refund if they do not work for your eyes. LensDirect are difficult to communicate with and they have a strict policy of not refunding/exchanging if the lenses are not comfortable for your eyes.

I've used LensDirect in the past and was happy with their service. I got new clear lenses about a year ago and there was a lot of back and forth but they were helpful and accommodating. Once the clear lenses were finished, I asked to have some tinted lenses made for my prescription sunglasses. I specifically asked them to make them the same way as my clear lenses. I ordered the highest index material and the most expensive coating, just like my clear lenses. When the tinted lenses were received by me, I could tell there was something wrong. I asked lens direct to send them back so they could take a look at them and see what the problem was. They asked me to take them to my local doctor and have them checked. I did. The local doctor said that the prescription was spot on. However, he said that he could tell just by looking at them that only the front side of the lenses were coated. The back side of the lenses, the side towards my face was not coated. I told LensDirect and they asked me to take photos of them and send them the photos. After they saw the photos, they used my doctors words and said that they could tell just by looking at the photos that the backside was coated. My experience is that I cannot see with these sunglasses in the sun because the reflections are so great between my face and the lenses. My clear lenses only reflect certain wavelengths of light in the sun. The sunglasses reflect all wavelengths. Sunglasses are not supposed to make it harder to see in the sun. My conclusion is that, as Mater would say, LensDirect's customer service has turned. Maybe my experience was just a bade employee but management should be aware of and control all their employees.

The prices are great. No complaints there. HOWEVER, it takes WAY too long to get your frames back. They've had my frames for close to a month now. They've been sitting in the "QA department" for at least 5 days now. Just ship my sunglasses back already! Competitors don't take as long, albeit they're more expensive. I'll take that tradeoff, going forward, because I needed my sunglasses back well before now.

This is an updated review. I have dealt with Lens Direct twice. The first set of lenses were ordered photo X-tra and were installed in a pair of rimless glass frames however the lenses were very loose. My several complaints were answered with a re-do. The second pair of lenses? The second pair were not as loose however the lenses are loose as well and the lenses were not photo X-tra. The second pair of lenses were standard photo grey. My original order was for the darker photo X-tra transition lenses. What I learned? Why are the lenses loose? because Lens Direct did not offer their thinnest lens for my rimless flames meaning ? the lenses are too thick for my frames and the compression fittings can not fit tight enough to hold the lenses in place tightly as needed. The fact that I waited patiently for two delayed lens installations and delayed returns and the lab pays no attention to details I have to learn after it’s too late to correct before the lenses are installed? I cannot recommend Lens Direct. I will add if your ordering lenses for standard plastic frames it might be worth your wait because their prices are very fair and if you have the time for delays give em a chance. Under the circumstances I would not use Lens Direct again.

I ordered my Lens over a month ago and still not receive them. And I paid expedited shipping (extra charge). Therefore, don't go by what they say...."12-14 days you should receive your Lens back". I don't recommend them, unless you have time to waste.
