Couldn't prove they notified me, then “cancelled” an account that stayed active
I was charged $488 to auto-renew a Leadpages account I hadn't logged into in two years. No renewal reminder ever reached me. When I asked support — repeatedly, in writing — to simply prove the notice was sent (a timestamp, the recipient address, the actual email), they couldn't and wouldn't. They just kept repeating “it was sent.” Meanwhile their own billing screen openly promises a renewal notice “30 days beforehand” — one I never got. Then it got worse. A manager confirmed twice, in writing, that my subscription was cancelled “effective immediately, no further action needed.” I checked: it was still active, auto-renew still switched ON, next billing dated a year out. I had to cancel it myself. So: a flat refusal to refund an unused account, an inability to back up the notice they hung the entire refusal on, and a cancellation that simply never happened. Scrolling these reviews, I'm clearly far from alone. If you've moved on from Leadpages, check your billing date right now — don't assume “cancelled” means cancelled.
