Bought a 2 seat sofa in leather with electric recline 16 months ago. Had an issue with the stuffing in the seat cushion which had rucked up and made it uncomfortable to sit on. Sent photos to Castelan who did not want to know. What is the point of paying £100 for insurance when all they do is refuse to stand over their products. My other 15 year old leather sofa which was half the price is still perfect. Don't buy this sub standard rubbish.

Bought a LaZyBoy two seater reclining sofa 18 months ago. After we had had it just over 12 months, we noticed that the seat on one side had dipped so that when you sit down, you fall into the corner. The arm on the same side appears to have a lack of padding. The foot rests when down are not level. Clearly, this due to poor quality and workmanship. We contacted Castellan the insurers who sent a so-called expert to investigate. He took a few photos and concluded that the problem was due to wear and tear. We challenged Castellan’s verdict almost 3 months ago and have heard nothing. We invited SCS to visit and paid £60.00 for the pleasure. Their so-called expert took photos and also decided the cause was wear and tear. We said we did not agree. We were told to expect a response within 2 weeks. We are still waiting after 4!! A sofa should last for years before wear and tear affects it. If it is wear and tear, which we dispute, why is only one side affected? We have a 16 year old sofa which has been used in exactly the same way and that is in perfect condition. The reason that the LaZyBoy sofa has deteriorated is that it is not fit for purpose. It has been made by an amateur using poor quality components. DO NOT BUY A LAZYBOY PRODUCT OR ANYTHING FROM SCS? The quality is poor and neither the retailer nor the manufacturer want to know once they have had your money.

This companies products should Be half the price, it is now manufactured in China, the quality is not even a quarter it use to be, my main 3 seater electric recliner has been welded to an uneven standard(the floor is level), the two seater stitching is completely out by an inch compared to the seat next to it, i also had to repair the connections as the USBs didn't work

Bought a lazyboy corner sofa with 2 recliners a few years ago. Had the sofa just over a year and the leather started to peel! Bearing in mind this is a £4500 sofa! We contacted SCS who were not interested in our complaint and were referred to Guardsman who wanted £50 not refundable call out fee just to even look at the issue. We paid this and were informed that the issue was 'wear and tear'. How can a £4500 sofa peel after 12 months when its purpose is to be sat on. Clearly not fit for purpose! I have since read many online forum entries from others with the same sofa with the same issue who have also had advice to say this is a manufacturing defect, yet SCS nor La-Z-Boy will not acknowledge. Why is no-one doing anything when there is clearly a problem with La-Z-Boy? This is a major sofa brand which is why we were inclined to purchase the product. We are now stuck with a sofa that should have lasted us years and years that is damaged throughout and therefore cannot sell on nor can we replace due to the money already spent. Brings me to tears! When are customers like myself going to be compensated for this issue????? Edit
