It was extremely easy to transfer my student loans over to Laurel Road! When I needed additional help I was automatically connected to a customer service rep without needing to wait on hold. It was painless!

My wife and I were paying five loans to Nelnet at what we consider a very high interest rate for an education loan; three at 7.9% and two at 8.5%. We took the Laurel Road promotion letter to our financial advisor who told us that lowering our interest rate could only help. He was right. The application process was fairly straight forward, the approval was immediate once we had submitted all requested documents and we are very pleased with our lower interest rate. This will enable us to pay off the parent plus loans sooner and will save nearly $10,000 in interest. We couldn't be more pleased.

I had a very positive experience with Laurel Road. I read some bad reviews prior to applying (most of which applied to DR Bank). Peppered throughout those bad reviews were a few that said LR would give the best interest rate, which was the most important factor for me. Sure enough I got the best rate from LR - lower than Sofi and other well known companies. I also read that the application process and approval period was very long. However, I think most of those reviews were written before LR got off the ground well. I applied online in less than an hour (had all my documentation at the ready). I was approved in less than two days. The loan was funded in less than 30 days (they said to expect about 30 day turnaround). After the loan was all set up I was able to easily make some changes to my payment schedule. The auto-debit was easy to set up and the interest rate reduction for auto-debit took effect as promised. My loan is serviced by Mohela and when I called in for assistance I got accurate, polite and timely assistance. I would recommend Laurel Road to anyone for their lending needs.
