I think this is a great company
I think this is a great company. My husband started a new business and we didn't have the necessary documents to buy a house on our own. This a great way for us to do so!

This program doesn’t really make sense…
This program doesn’t really make sense to me. There is downpayment assistance, sure, but you have to qualify for the entire loan on your own? If I could qualify for the loan on my own I wouldn’t need downpayment assistance. This isn’t helpful to CSU employees unless they’re dual-income/ married.

The purchasing experience was…
The purchasing experience was relatively easy. Follow-up has been more challenging (we moved our house to a trust and had to double pay because it wasn't clear what role/timeline Landed needed) and we consistently get requests to exit our agreement, when we've communicated that we are not currently interested.

I was excited about trying out the…
I was excited about trying out the program BUT it was not what I expected. Yes they linked me with a mortgage rep but that wasn't my issue. My issue was working with them to see how I can get a loan despite my student loans and that was never addressed.

Encouraged, but let down in the end
I was really encouraged by this program and seemed to be on the right track, I submitted all the documents being requested and my credit was run only to be told that they couldn't work with me because of the bankruptcy on my report. I had disclosed this information on my initial phone consult and was made to believe that it wouldn't be an issue. I now have an inquiry on my credit report which knocked some points off of my credit and back to square one in my hopes of owning a home of my own.

Folks who have gone through a bankruptcy can still work with Landed, as long as they qualify for a conventional loan. That decision is ultimately up to the lender, and it depends on the type of bankruptcy as well the amount of time since it happened. Landed stands behind their product
Landed stands behind their product. I think they really are in it to help certain groups (for me, a professor) afford to buy in high-priced areas. Our home purchase had lots and lots of hiccups, and in the end Landed was a good partner. Very happy we connected with Landed.

I met with someone a couple of months…
I met with someone a couple of months ago and he was supposed to have someone with the credit department contact me. No one has contacted me as of this date. I'm really want to get into this program and start the process in becoming a home owner but I'm a little disappointed.
