Great training and customer service. The support needs to be to help you qualify for the program to include how to save money in this current economy

Hi Social Worker,
Thanks for taking the time to review us, and for sharing that part of your experience. That sounds really frustrating, and you're not alone in feeling that way.
If you wanted to try again, we would be happy to introduce you a partner who helps Landed customers with savings plans and other financial barriers to homeownership, at no cost to you.
Feel free to reach back out to your Relationship Manager or email us at [email protected] to learn more.
Best wishes,

Great option for some people, but be careful of the unclear details.
It is great to get you into a home in which you may not normally be able to get into. However, there are several complications that can come with using Landed, such as there are with any partnership. For example, getting refis are not as easy to do with Landed as your partner. Not to mention how complicated the buyout process is to end your contract with them. I understand that they have to have a system in which to make money, but their process seems very unfair, or more importantly, it is unclear how unfair it is. For many people (us including) we would still choose to use Landed knowing how unfair they were because moving into a home we wanted was worth it for us. However, finding out after the fact makes you feel like you've been conned and that is not a nice feeling. Note that we did this 3 years ago so some of their policies may have changed since then. So after about 6 months in our new home, several improvements and rates dropping we decided to refi and with our new equity, buy out our contract with Landed. Now, Landed said at the time that they don't get credit for improvements we made on the house. However it seems that in the appraisal process they can't (or won't) seem to give specific values to home improvements. They will say it adds to the value of the home, but not how much value. So even though we added siding to the home (which according to the appraisal reports made our 50 yr old home look 10 yr old), full solar panels, insulation, an AC unit and new top of the line energy efficient furnace, because the appraiser would not give a dollar value to those improvements (and they would not use the dollar value we spent), Landed would not give us credit for any of them. So I had to get my own appraiser, which was about 75K less when not factoring in those improvements. However, this was not good enough so we needed a 3rd appraiser and finally after many back and forth emails and then to eventually a supervisor we finally settled on a price somewhere in between.
So I would recommend Landed for some people, but encourage you to read up and know all the details of the buy out contract, particularly in terms of improvements you make.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for sharing such a detailed review, your feedback is so helpful for our growing team.
We're sorry to hear that the experience with those home improvements wasn't easier. We'll go ahead and flag this for our post-purchase team, as they are always looking for ways to make homeownership and the exit process easier for our customers.
If you have any additional comments, concerns, or questions, please feel free to email us at [email protected].

The purchasing experience was…
The purchasing experience was relatively easy. Follow-up has been more challenging (we moved our house to a trust and had to double pay because it wasn't clear what role/timeline Landed needed) and we consistently get requests to exit our agreement, when we've communicated that we are not currently interested.

Hi Allyson,
Thanks for taking the time to review us and share this feedback. We've passed this note onto our post-purchase team, and requested that you be removed from the email list for proactive exits offers. We're so sorry that message hasn't been received sooner.
That team is also in the process working on giving transacted customers like you more control over whether and when they hear about proactive exit offers.
We appreciate your patience in the meantime. If you have additional questions or concerns, feel free to email us anytime at [email protected].
Best wishes,

I would give a 3 star
I would give 5 stars for being there to help educators to buy homes and I am thankful for that. However, I think needed needs to be more professional in terms of working with a more professional Title Company that meets dead lines and keep promises.
Also, I was not very happy with the post purchase service. I wanted to add the new home to my living will and we started the process December 2021 and was not finalized till March of 2022. The reason for that, they lost the original docs signed and witnessed at the Notary and they could not find it eventual. The, then decided to work and record the copies. How can I trust them in future if they loose docs?
