JV financing
I recently purchased a new KIA for my company, I set up financing at the KIA dealership for conveninece only because the interest rate was higher than I could get elsewhere. My info was give to the finance manager at the dealership for all my paper work. I did not receive any documentation with which to make a payment or set up an online account. So I sought out the website and filled out the necessary info to open an account. The business account did not work, so I started over with a personal account, that didnt work either. I called customer service to get help and found out my account was set up as a personal account, then I was informed that the email address on my records there had been entered with a typo (this email was only given one time, and it worked beautifully as I received 15 email per day from marketing). Rather than confirming my identity and making the one charactor change I was to receive a call from security within 3 to five days. So I finally did receive that call and the security steps were a higher bar than my banking accounts, business accounts, retirement accounts or medical records. It should have been hanled by customer service. There was also a bit of attitude about my pointing out this was a definite overkill. Problems: 1. Should have immediately received account info after buying car, rather than going on a mission to track down customer service. 2. Customer Service should have handled the simple correction as I had and furnished all identity info. 3. I should have been transferred rather than waiting for an eventual contact. 4. I furnished less info to the security specialist that I did to customer service to make the correction. 5. The detection of attitude gave me attitude. KIA made the mistake of entry, KIA mad this a difficult process, so if anything I was due an appology rather than a lecture. Frankly I deeply regret my decision to finance with KIA, I should have made them use a typical bank. I never pay over time, most cars I have financed have been paid off in a year. In my opinion, KIA finance is still a JV operation, not operating at the level of institutions I have dealt with in the past. Mike
