We bought a 2019 Kia Soul for our teenage son less than 6 months ago. 85,000 miles and the engine has failed. No engine, from any car company, should fail at 85,000 miles. We have been speaking with Kia Customer Service for 3 weeks. Nothing has been done. They do not stand by their product. Their warranties mean nothing. I will never again purchase a Kia and I do not recommend them for anyone else. Be warned!

The worst customer support
I made a huge mistake by purchasing Kia. The customer support is terrible. The phone number on Kia's website is routed to the Philippines and they would just keep disconnecting your call after you have going through their IVR and waited for minutes imagine paying $40k and getting the worst support. I would never ever buy Kia again.

If I could give Kia less than 1 star
If I could give Kia less than 1 star, I would! My son and his fiancé have a K-4 that they have taken to a couple of dealers because of car issues and the problem still hasn't been resolved! They have even been in touch with the main headquarters with their advocate who has tried multiple times with Kia to make this right, and nothing!!!! It seems like every time when they take it in, the mechanic says it is working fine, but when they get it home, the opposite happens. This has costed them money and time due to car rental, gas, etc. Absolutely the worst service overall!

I would give zero stars if I could
I would give zero stars if I could. Bought a 2023 Forte 2 months ago. Was sitting in traffic when the rear glass just shatters. No explanation no cause. And then Kia refused to do anything about it. The car has 25k miles on it. Unreal. Not even a 50% customer satisfaction assistance. Nothing. Their customer support really sucks. Stay Away!

My Kia Warranty Experience
My 2023 Kia Niro Transmission suddenly failed at 38k miles. That was disappointing but maybe I got unlucky. Kia started warranty repair, but the dealership didn't have any loaner cars, so when I asked what to do as I have a long commute and need to be in office for work, they responded with just go rent a car and Kia will reimburse you. To all who read this, always ask more questions and cover all bases before hand, as you can avoid the b.s. I am going through now.
I never got this in writing
When I called Kia America to open the warranty repair they never told me the hidden rules they have around rentals (this was actually recorded in the initial case and will come back later)
So, after calling Kia America and getting the case open, their call support said, "yep, just go rent a car and Kia will reimburse you after the repairs are complete". Ohh how stupid I was...
So I live in a HCOL area and cars are in demand so my basic econo car for 10 days that the car was suppose to be in the shop was $600+. Mistake #3 as I had a fair few points saved up in my CC I used the points to pay for the car rental as I didn't want to put the 600 on my card as I had a few other large expenses recently.
I had to extend the rental as it did take longer to get it fully repaired and now, after the car had been repaired and none of the rules had been explained to me, Kia America initially would only reimburse $35/day for rental. I said this was not fair as it had cost more than that to rent and with the extension. They escalated to their goodwill program. Here things got worse, as now they are saying since it was via CC point redemption (no matter that there is a cash value attached to the receipt and the money came from my CC company) that they are unwilling to reimburse any but the extension (a small 100 payment).
I am completely distraught as those points could have been saved for a (badly needed) vacation stay. Again none of this was explained to me before hand, if I had known about the $35 or the CC points I would have made things work, either get them to find me a car on short notice for $35/d or just put it on my CC and moved some money around, in order to get 100% reimbursement and feels like a complete betrayal of your customers.

Kia America Customer Care
Kia America Customer Care – No Independent Review of Dealership Add-On Concern:
I contacted Kia America Customer Care regarding a concern with a $1,295 Plad Tech add-on associated with my June 2024 vehicle purchase from Aloha Kia Leeward in Hawaii.
I want to be clear: my concern is not that the product exists, nor that I signed purchase documents. My concern is that the product was not clearly presented to me as an optional add-on during the sales process, and I do not believe I was given a meaningful opportunity to accept or decline it.
I discovered this issue in 2026 after receiving a Kia maintenance reminder and reviewing my purchase paperwork to better understand the services and products included with my vehicle purchase. After reviewing the documents, I contacted the dealership and attempted to resolve the matter directly.
The dealership, including General Manager Roger Moore, maintained that the documents were signed and offered a goodwill resolution consisting of Kia Care services and a partial payment. I did not accept this offer because it did not address my concern regarding how the add-on was presented.
I then contacted Kia America Customer Care. A case was opened, but I was advised that Kia could not review the dealership contract, modify the transaction, or intervene in the dealership’s decision. I was directed back to the dealership for resolution.
I appreciate that Kia Customer Care responded, but I was disappointed that there was no independent review of the purchase documents or the circumstances surrounding the presentation of the optional product.
My recommendation to other Kia customers: carefully review every line item in your purchase paperwork and ask specifically which products are optional before signing.
Transparency during the vehicle purchase process matters.
