This insurance company deserves zero stars! Horrible customer service and extremely slow handling of claims. I was hit by a driver insured by Kemper Insurance, and the driver received a ticket because they were at fault. I followed every single instruction Kemper Insurance gave me and waited two months, only for them to deny my claim. Their excuse was that the driver was not listed on the policy and that they could not reach him. How is that my problem? The car was insured, the driver was at fault, and I did everything they asked me to do. All I wanted was to have the damage repaired at a repair shop approved by Kemper Insurance. I wasn't asking for anything extra—just to have my car fixed after an accident that wasn't my fault. After two months of waiting, I was left with a damaged car and no resolution. The lack of communication, the extremely slow process, and the complete lack of accountability are unacceptable. My experience with Kemper Insurance has been absolutely terrible. I would not recommend this company to anyone. If you're considering them for insurance, think twice. You don't want to find out how they handle things when you actually need them. Stay away!

Extremely Disappointing Claims Handling – Unreasonable Delays and Disputed Accident Damage I am extremely disappointed with Infinity Insurance Company (Kemper) and the way my automobile insurance claim has been handled. On September 25–26, 2026, I was involved in an accident in Kentucky while trying to avoid a deer. My 2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid sustained damage to its undercarriage, suspension, and rear section. Nearly three weeks later, my vehicle remains at the repair shop without repairs having started. Kemper is disputing the rear damage, suggesting that it may have existed before the accident. I strongly disagree. The company has even requested photographs showing the vehicle’s condition before the accident, as though customers are expected to photograph their cars every day in anticipation of an accident. Even more concerning, the repair shop has informed me that it has sent communications to the insurance company without receiving responses. Meanwhile, I continue dealing with the inconvenience and financial consequences of being without my vehicle, while the claim remains unresolved. Due to these circumstances, I filed a formal complaint with the Florida Department of Financial Services on October 15, 2026. I expect Kemper to conduct a fair and thorough review of all accident-related damage, provide a clear written explanation for its decisions, respond to the repair shop, and promptly authorize all repairs covered by my insurance policy. This experience has seriously damaged my confidence in Kemper. Paying for insurance should mean receiving fair treatment, clear communication, and timely claims handling when an accident occurs.

I've had Kemper for ages, generally cheap and decent customer service. I'm no longer a fan after a super difficult time submitting annual driving mileage estimate, they didn't accept my mailed in response and calling them up is not helpful either.

Absolutely garbage insurance company. Garbage company ran by garbage human beings. Corporation who does not care about the well-being of humans.

This company has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I spoke with someone about changing my auto-draft date, and I was told that it could not be changed due to company policy. I then asked her to remove my auto-draft completely, which she did. AFTER she removed it, she informed me that removing the auto-draft would result in an increase to my bill. I immediately told her, “Never mind, just leave the auto-draft on,” and she told me she COULD NOT put it back. WHY was I not told about the increase BEFORE she removed my auto-draft? Had I known that beforehand, I obviously would have made a different decision. Now I’m being charged more because of a decision I made without being given all of the information first, and then I’m being told there’s nothing that can be done to reverse it. This is absolutely ridiculous. Policies are one thing, but customer service should include clearly explaining the consequences of a change BEFORE making that change. I feel completely taken advantage of, and I am extremely frustrated with how this was handled.

I used Kemper Insurance for about two years. I recently found a better policy with a lower price, so I planned accordingly and decided to switch to a new provider. I canceled my policy with Kemper, but three days later they still withdrew $103 from my bank account. They eventually reversed the charge, but I was still charged a $17 processing fee. I was later told that I needed to give them at least 10 days’ notice in order to stop the payment on time. Another frustrating part of the experience was that you have to cancel your policy in person—you can’t do it over the phone. When I did speak with someone over the phone, the customer service was also disappointing. The representative was rude and came across as though they were upset that I had decided to switch insurance providers. Overall, my experience with Kemper was frustrating, especially when trying to cancel my policy. After two years with the company, I expected the cancellation process to be much smoother and the customer service to be more professional.

They should be rated at zero not one.

This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had with any product. The post-sale support is terrible, and recent software updates have actually broken basic core functions that used to work perfectly fine. When I raised these issues on their forum, instead of addressing the problems, they simply banned me. That says everything about their lack of accountability and complete absence of self-criticism. For a product at this price point, it feels outdated, poorly maintained, and frankly not worth the money. On top of that, the people behind it come across as arrogant and dismissive, with egos far bigger than the flaws in their own product. I strongly do not recommend buying this. There are many better alternatives on the market with healthier communities and far more professional leadership.
