This algorithm is not accurate
This algorithm is not accurate. It literally can’t be. I made a 100% open all options allowed submission and got under 40%, but by reducing the height maximum (so from saying that any height is okay, I capped it at 6 feet) it actually expanded my options. This isn’t how maths works. This calculator is largely just here to make people insecure

Hi Brenden, thank you for the review. We're sorry the result made no sense. One note for other readers: this review is about our free Standards Calculator, not the Keeper matchmaking service. You're right about the math in that a lower height cap can only shrink the pool. We tested this on the live calculator today. A 6 foot cap, with no other change, did not raise the result in any test. So if your result increased, something else changed at the same time. The most likely cause is the bottom handle on the height slider. It starts at 5'8", so a range shown as 5'8"+ still excludes everyone shorter than that. If that handle drops to 4 feet, it adds far more people than a 6 foot cap removes. The slider handles have a known bug where a handle can jump when you grab it slightly off center. That makes it easy to move the bottom handle by accident. A fix is in review. About the result under 40%: with every filter fully open, the calculator shows about 80% for either gender. A result under 40% means at least one filter still limited the pool. The age slider starts at 22 to 42, and that setting alone reduces the result to about a third. If you still have your result link, send it to me at [email protected] and we'll check your exact settings. The calculator counts how many US adults match a set of filters, based on Census and CDC data. It doesn't judge anyone. It shows how much a set of preferences shrinks the pool, so you can decide which ones matter to you.
