Tire wear is to fast, replacing a tire is a major process requiring a complete wheel change. The batteries began to indicate they will not charge after about one year. Customer Service has told me it may it may be the controler but it may not be. Replacement of the joystick is expensive, more so if it turns out to not be the issue. Most of the time it is very difficult to unfold. Took twenty five minutes in the airport for an associate to get it unfolded after it seem locked it the folded position. The chair worked very well when it actually worked, the idea is awesome for when I travel. With these issues I have gone back to my manual chair. It now sits in my garage gathering dust. I have friends who are also disabled, I tell them to look at other options. Read the reviews of every chair of this type before you buy. It can become an expensive dust collector.

We are senior citizens and find the Smart Chair too heavy to lift and put in our car. Have not been able to use it since i need it for shopping in malls or sightseeing.

My chair seems to be “locked up”and we are unable to open it! Something has caught and we are unable to pry it open, so it is therefore useless to me now. Before it became useless, it worked well. I needed a cushion on the seat and a pillow on the backrest in order to make it more comfortable for prolonged seating, but it is highly responsive using the joystick and I liked it!

the use of the chair was very cumbersome. Once we received it we were very disappointed at the quality and design. Not as easy and versatile to use as advertised

I ordered because it was lightweight but what they don't tell you is not made for tall people. My husband is 6 ft and he has a hard time getting his feet to stay on foot rests and back is low also so always leaning back to much to try to get comfortable.

After purchasing the KD smart chair we found that we needed to contact them as the front wheels of the chair became very bent, making the chair unsafe as it used to slide side ways, especially on slopes, also the arm rests stared breaking off and the mud guard on one of the back wheels broke off. The company said there was nothing they would do to help, even though the chair was still fairly new. We have since looked at a UK made model of the same chair and would have definitely preferred it, unfortunately it was not out till a couple of years after we brought the KD smart chair. Very disappointed the seller of the KD smart chair did not want to know of the problems we had with the chair and had NO intentions of resolving the issues in any way at all.

It takes way to long to receive parts when you order them. Two months is to long when you need the wheelchair
