No-shows are typically counted because the hypnotherapist reserves that time and prepares for the session. As a courtesy, we returned the session credit to your account. •⁠ ⁠July 16: You attended and completed your first 80-minute session. •⁠ ⁠July 16: We reached out to check in. No response. •⁠ ⁠July 17: We followed up again. No response. •⁠ ⁠July 18: We followed up again. No response. •⁠ ⁠July 20: You attended and completed your second session. •⁠ ⁠Following this, you received nearly 10 additional check-ins from our team offering support, adjustments, or a practitioner rematch. We did not receive a response. •⁠ ⁠September 9: You contacted us requesting to cancel the program. Our policy allows refunds for eligible unused sessions within 30 days of purchase. Donald, we welcome questions and differing opinions, but we also expect respectful communication during our sessions. The difference between hypnosis and hypnotherapy was addressed during the presentation, including on a dedicated slide, after our moderators let you know that we would be covering it. Your access was not removed because you asked questions. It was ended after repeated disruptive messages and inappropriate commentary regarding a practitioner’s religious background. Our practitioners come from a variety of personal, cultural, and religious backgrounds, and those beliefs are never imposed on clients. We do not tolerate disparaging or discriminatory comments toward anyone based on their background, and we stand by our decision to maintain a respectful environment for everyone attending. We are equally direct about program recommendations. If someone is dealing with long-standing trauma, we would not suggest that three sessions are enough or make promises we do not believe are realistic. Our standard recommendation in those cases is typically 8–12 sessions. If someone chooses to start with fewer sessions, that is their decision, but we are clear about what we believe is appropriate for the level of support they are seeking. We also confirm that we can legally provide services in your state, answer your questions, and discuss which hypnotherapist and program would best fit your goals, schedule, and budget. I also want to reassure you that we do not charge more during the consultation than the pricing available on our website. Our standard individual session rate is $300, which is publicly listed. During the consultation, we often recommend personalized program options that include discounted package pricing based on the number of sessions and any current promotions. Our goal is to help each client find the option that best fits their needs—not to charge more than what's advertised. I did want to provide a little context, as it sounds like there may have been some confusion about how your program was structured. At Joymind, we typically recommend an 8- to 12-session program because lasting change generally takes place over a series of sessions. Clients can pay in full, use financing, or choose a monthly membership that spreads the cost into recurring monthly payments. Based on your account, you enrolled in the monthly membership. Your future appointments were scheduled in advance to help maintain momentum and secure your preferred time with your hypnotherapist, as our providers often book several weeks in advance. If those appointments aren't reserved, clients can lose continuity in their care and have difficulty getting back on their therapist's schedule. Your welcome email also outlines that you're enrolled in a recurring membership, includes your next billing date, and explains how the membership works. I also understand your frustration about not being able to cancel through the app. We intentionally handle cancellations through our Client Success team to protect our clients' privacy. Unfortunately, we've had situations where someone other than the client attempted to make changes or cancel a program without the client's knowledge or consent. Verifying requests directly with the client helps ensure we're honoring the wishes of the person who enrolled. While I'm sorry this was your experience, I appreciate you sharing your feedback. Otherwise, someone could purchase the largest discounted program, use only a few sessions, and end up paying less than someone who intentionally purchased a smaller program from the start. We explain this pricing structure during enrollment, in the intake forms completed before beginning the program, and again in the welcome email, which outlines how refunds are calculated if a program is canceled early. The more tangible changes—feeling different day to day, responding differently to situations, and having the people around you notice those changes—are most commonly seen after clients move beyond those initial sessions and continue through the recommended program.
