Regarding Papa On Demand Service associated with Select Health. From reading these reviews it sounds like the workers getting paid to work really don't want to work, don't want to drive to appointments, clean, help. Why do they accept the job then complain. Elderly people may be fully capable to do the tasks them selves, but if the service is offered, why wouldn't they take advantage of the service. Workers who are hired and paid are expected to work. Why are they all complaining. Seniors may have low energy because of age, chronic fatigue. Don't accept the job and be too prideful to do it. Work is work. Don't expect to get paid to just sit and talk. I worked in my youth as a maid. I didn't complain because I was hired to do that kind of work. If house, or yard work is a part of your job then don't complain when ask to do so. I'm new to the program. I haven't had my first visit yet. I hope it works out as I have chronic fatigue and don't want complainers coming over. Please!

It was sold to me as a rewarding experience helping the elderly, I feel mislead. The clients use you for a free taxi or maid. Most of the time the person is able bodied and fully capable so it’s not “rewarding” especially when they pay slave wages. Gas is $5 a gallon, I pick up a man who is only 64 and not even retired I learned, total snob BTW, his Dr’s office is 25 miles away! I was so upset, especially since this guy was fully capable of taking himself and didn’t need me, I felt used. One lady had me clean out her fridge that hasn’t been cleaned in YEARS. Dead flies, rotten food, she admitted that she could do it herself but didn’t want to. Often I show up and the person isn’t even home, I had a client who lived with her daughter who wasn’t home, her daughter suggested I clean HER home. This isn’t what I signed up for ok, I wanted to help elderly people who genuinely needs help, not be a servant or cheap slave labor. You guys want to know why your favorite pals disappear? They don’t reimburse for mileage, they cheat us and don’t pay correctly on top of the already low poverty rates we work for. I could get around the low pay for the satisfaction of helping an elderly person but it’s mostly baby boomers taking advantage of the service for free house cleaning.

They dont even deserve a one star. They do not help the people with training. They have sent out nice people yet, nothing was helpful. One stole from me , yet still works for them. As for rides,,, dont bother they fail to show up. I feel the company is a scam for sure. I am reporting them today for insurance fraud. I feel They are just trying to get funds from my insurance company. Help for disabled elderly? I can get same abuse from my kids. No thank you. Train your people. Listen to us elderly. I dont believe they know my generation. We stand up for ourselves! Fraud on insurance.

The program sound great but in reality 1) the about distance turns into 10+ miles 2) company? No, the clients want a cleaning lady. 3) driving your the doctor? You would think every one choose a doctor in their town. No the driving to the doctor is 30 to 1 hour driving away to bring the clients to the doctor. So at the moment you finish your 3 hours to “company the elderly to the doctor” you have been driving the whole time. 4) last but not least important. The payment. They continue sending me emails “the payment has failed” something is wrong with my bank account or routing number. Nothing is wrong. It is a big scam. So be careful trying “to help” because they just take advance of you.

Omg I just got completely scratched and arms and legs bleeding bad from a clients dog. I called papa and they don’t give a rats butt. I’m literally in so much pain from the scratches and wounds I have. Never ever again!

I signed up to join papa pals as an extra side job and to give back. It's been a month after I submitted my highly sensitive information to them and I have not heard anything back. I did email them twice about 2 wks ago and they just said to give them more time to do my background etc. There is absolutely nothing wrong in my background. A month and still nothing. I am really upset that I sent them my personal details,as I am feeling scammed at this point and have no intention if working with them. If this is how they handle getting started I definitely won't trust them with my pay or any other issue's should they arise.

My mother is or was a worker for papa pal and she loves papa pal but this one visit to a lady ended all of that. This lady claimed a few days AFTER the visit that her keys were stolen which logically makes no sense. Now they just recently told my mom she’s banned from working with papa pal even though prior to that they told her she was only suspended until may because police were involved even though they had all that information when they told her she was only suspended, and we don’t have the keys we looked everywhere even though we know it wasn’t taken by us. And it’s unfair because my mother loves working with them and she hadn’t had any complaints until this lady. And they haven’t done any further investigation to see if this lady had lost her keys or anything which is costing my mom money and she can’t supply for her kids.
