I did my first and last visit this morning. The people were nice but the app said 10 miles when the one way is actually 19 miles and I took the shortest way, back roads there and back. 19 miles one way is a big difference from 10. Also found out that they do not pay commute miles, only if commuting a customer, makes no sense to me when everything offered is 20-100 miles one way. You can’t make any money at that rate. By the time you drive to any of them you will be paying more in gas than what you are making. The whole thing is stupid and not worth it. If you ever decide to pay for yhe commute to and from customers hone Papa Pal then I would be more than happy to work for you but not going to take money out of my own pocket to do a job because when all is said and done with the way things are now you will never make a dime.

I experienced miscommunication with a support specialist regarding the payment structure for Papa Pals. When I initially began in June of 2022, I was informed that I would receive compensation for commute miles, transportation miles, and an hourly rate, which had been the practice up until that point. Recently, I resumed client sessions and, in the process, traveled over 100 miles to assist these clients. However, to my surprise, I discovered that commute miles are no longer reimbursed in the state of California. Unfortunately, this realization came after I had already driven over 600 miles in a span of three days. As a result, I found myself personally funding my work for Papa Pal, considering the high gas prices in California, which often range from $5 to $6 per gallon. This sudden change in compensation policy significantly impacts the feasibility of being a Papa Pal, as the expenses incurred outweigh the earnings. Given the current circumstances, I am hopeful that Papa Pal will reconsider its decision and reinstate the reimbursement for commute miles in California. Until such changes are made, the financial burden and logistical challenges make it impractical for me to continue as a Papa Pal. I believe that addressing this issue will be crucial in retaining dedicated and motivated individuals in the Papa Pal network.

This company fired me 2 days after giving BIRTH they do not care about their workers ! They AGREED to at least 2weeks of unpaid leave because i was temporary to perm & fired me 2 days into the two weeks . DISGUSTING ! Would NOT RECOMMEND TO BLACK WOMEN OR PREGNANT WOMEN . paid for day care just to be let go and now stuck with a bill !

My papa pal was a no call no show I rescheduled and again no call no show! The company did Call me 45 minutes later and reschedule a third possibility. What gives?

I wrote in April 2023 criticizing lack of follow up & absurdly long waits for return calls to set up an appointment. In the last month, I have a worker who violated HIPPA, telling me first & last name & conditions of his other PAPA clients, related that he was disengaged from both Lyft & Uber, as he was driving me around. I asked for a housekeeper, who said she was a maid at a hotel. She used too much detergent & the visit was spent with both of us scooping out all the suds. She was a NO SHOW for second visit. No call from her or PAPA. Next driver I thought was sweet, but we she spoke of her faith, I did tell her I was an atheist & preferred that religion be kept private. She came to apt & I asked if she could help me with a craft project. She agreed & I set up a day & time convenient for her. Again, NO SHOW, NO CALL from her or PAPA. Disrespectful to "members". Very unprofessional company. I have sent grievance to my insurance company, which I love, but only received the same blah, blah no response response. So disappointing. I think Andrew, the founder, who got millions from Venture Capitalists, is a huckster! Instead of the boiler plate responses to Trust Pilot complaints, I would appreciate a REAL response from the founder &/ his backers!

Isabel waited on me at the Wescosvile PA location. I complemented her on how good she makes pies. No thank you was given. I paid for my order, no thanks given. Her whole demeanor was negative as though she was mad I came to buy pies. Isabel need to be train on friendly , courteous and thankful customer service. Papa John I am sure this behavior is not what you want your customers to experience. Please retrain her and any alike.

I drove one of their members around for appoints 25 minutes away and never got paid because the member canceled my visit AFTER I took her to multiple places!! The response I got from Papa Pal was basically, sorry we can't help you because we can't het ahold of the member. That is unacceptable to not pay someone when they are using their own car and gas. Now...I can even call to get it resolved!! I am so mad!!!

Papa Pal has use the tactic of Retaliation against me . Bec I experienced unlawful discrimination and harassment. I was engaged in a protected workplace activity. On May 23, 2023 With a Member . I reported inappropriate behavior of the member and the incident immediately to Papa Pal over the Phone , and Chat , as well as emails and messages .Papa Pal the employer took an adverse action against me. in response and Sent me disturbing Emails with Violations that are unfounded and inaccurate . Papa pal is refusing to fix the problem . I asked for payment for vist and Papa Pal Retaliated against me for asking for Payment and Reporting inappropriate behavior of a Member .. Papa Pal has sent me two Violations Since then. #1 specifically having a pattern of low member surveys. May 24, 2023 #2 specifically not showing up to a visit. May 25, 2023 I'm asking the Company Papa Pal to remove these violations immediately. Papapal never apologized regarding this. If the retaliation continues I will contact the Labor Board.
