My daughter loved her time at the UNC Chapel Camp camp. She met so many new friends and learned amazing stuff. I barely heard from her and when I picked her up, she was already talking about attending again next year. The camp has all the lessons and activities planned out. The dorm rooms were clean. She came home even more determined to become a doctor. No complaints from us!

My experience with Outset Business's management consulting program exceeded my expectations. The capstone project was where everything came together, and it was structured incredibly well. Working with Stan, an AI content creation assistant, we delivered a full consulting presentation to a real business. The process involved genuine market research, testing their actual product, and applying everything we'd learned throughout the program, culminating in a professional presentation with solutions that could actually be implemented. I can't overstate how much I valued this. So many business activities in high school are simulations, but this was a real project with real stakes and the potential for tangible impact. Getting there was just as valuable. I came in with almost no prior knowledge of the career itself, and the program's general introduction and guest speakers gave me a real foundation, helping me figure out whether this path is actually a good fit for me. The financial literacy session built on that foundation beautifully: terms like LTV, CAC, gross profit, runway, churn, and contribution margin went from vague buzzwords to concepts I could genuinely apply, and that knowledge showed up directly in our final presentation. None of it would have worked without the staff. Philippe, Chloe, Ryan, and Kalie were incredible: humble, friendly, accommodating, genuinely helpful, and fun to be around. Philippe's insights into the business world stood out especially; a lot of his values aligned with mine, which made him someone I really looked up to by the end of the program. The college students he brought on were the same way, always willing to give real, substantive advice rather than generic filler. The UCLA campus rounded out the experience perfectly. We had easy access to stores for all kinds of necessities, the food at Epicuria Dining Hall and Cafe 1919 was great, and the dorms were clean with fridges, freezers, and microwaves. The bonding activities were just as strong: we had a pickleball tournament, made slime, visited the Raising Cane's in Westwood, and got to interact with the med campers. Honestly, I would've never guessed this was a pilot program. Everything was so well thought out and executed. I would love to come back to Outset Business next year, and I'd recommend it to anyone considering this path without hesitation.

Fiona and her team at Columbia U site did an amazing job! I felt that my son was safe the entire time, that he had the experience we expected and communication was prompt whenever I had questions. He enjoyed his experience and felt it was informative and provided insight into future career options. Most importantly he had fun, pressure off before senior year is a great gift! I would definitely recommend this experience and the Columbia U Campus for teens thinking about going to college in the city!

Before I begin this review, I wanted to state that a student's first year at Outset, according to the alumni handbook, is simply an exploration guide into medicine. During my time at Outset, it was stated several times that the program was not simply to help you become a doctor, surgeon, or whatever your career might be. It was designed and created to guide you in deciding whether the medical field is good for you at all. Therefore, if you are unsatisfied with what you or your student learned regarding medicine thus far, I encourage you to apply for a second year to actually delve deeper into MCAT topics and your or your student's choice of specialization. Outset, as a student, was extremely insightful for me. If you are unsure as to whether to delve into the medical field, please join Outset for a year. This program has helped me determine if the field is right for me. Additionally, every single student in the program is so intuitive and knowledgeable. It gives you a great perspective of who you're up against. On Columbia's campus, it was absolutely gorgeous. We had a short tour on Sunday with a fun challenge (with the prize being Insomnia Cookies), and had dinner at the Ferris Wheel Cafeteria. I've read through replies, and yes, we did go out for many walks (Outset states that a student may walk 10-20,000 steps daily). You are (potentially) in a new city. It is important to instill a principle into the student that academics aren't everything. You matter first and foremost. Your mental health does as well. And, even though I live in NYC, these explorations were very new to me. Some tips are (if you're coming to NYC via plane) to give your student preferably no less than $300. Additionally, if they do not call you often, it is because Outset always has the students active and moving. They might be more focused on getting their ID's out of their pocket than calling, haha. Overall, beautiful experience. Would absolutely love to come back to this program. Highly recommend. this is mya btw

Great program, great counselors

Everything from the interview to planning the pick up from the airport was so clear. Any questions we had were answered promptly. We always felt comfortable and safe with Outset! It was an amazing experience and so glad we did this. Highly recommend!
