As a new customer to Embody, I had high expectations based on the transparency of its injection pricing and the outside research I conducted before becoming a patient. My first 4 weeks with Embody went smoothly. I received communication regarding the status of my medication and I began my injections using the instructions provided without issue. I completed the 2nd month refill process 3 weeks in advance and reported fatigue cause as my only symptom. There were several days delays with the pharmacy as a result Embody arranged a secondary pharmacy to distribute my medication. My medication arrived one day later than previously scheduled induction date. I took the injection upon receipt and stored the remaining medication in the refrigerator because I was familiar with the dosage amount and the NAD which was to help with energy. I was not initially concerned, however when I woke up the following day, I had a completely different experience. I began experiencing significant gastrointestinal symptoms that I believe were a reaction to the new compound. I sought assistance via the Embody app, reviewed the FAQs and followed the guidance to wait 48 hours for symptoms to subside using OTC meds for relief as directed. After 3 days without relief, I reached out to Embody Customer Service to report the symptoms I was experiencing, and this is where the confusion began. I was told twice that a nurse would contact me, but I did not receive a call after waiting both times for over six hours. This ultimately took me into the weekend feeling extremely ill and barely functioning. I was able to keep myself hydrated despite experiencing severe gastrointestinal symptoms, but I was told that someone would contact me on Monday. Out of frustration with the phone / chat team, I emailed Embody Customer Service to ask why I had not received the promised nurse call. And at this point, I also decided to cancel my account during this process. I was presented with the option to upgrade to the VIP service, which would provide me with a case manager. I was told someone would contact me within 3 to 5 business days regarding management of my initial dosage, this was extremely confusing because I had already been a patient with Embody for approximately five weeks had completed my first dosage and was seeking assistance for the reaction to my second dosage. Instead being treated as if I had not started medication. There’s a significant disconnect in the information available across a different teams. Throughout this experience, I felt frequently customer service did not have a complete understanding of my account or my history despite the number of times I was required to provide personal information to verify me as an Embody customer. The lack of continuity made an already stressful situation considerably more frustrating. Ultimately the boiling point was when I was emailed that I could not receive a refund for the month I had paid in advance despite not being able to continue. I was not seeking a full refund for my entire experience with Embody despite having medication that I will not be taking because of the unexplained reaction and lack of clarity around what may have occurred with the compound. The bright spot in this experience was eventually being connected with my account manager, Percy once I connected with him, he was responsive, respectful, and genuinely helpful. He was able to coordinate a nurse call which was then escalated to another practitioner, who advised me to pause the medication. Percy also worked with me to obtain a partial refund of the month that I paid in advance and not able to use. I have decided to not continue with Embody due to the lack of cohesion and continuity between the different teams when I needed medical support. I do not feel comfortable taking that risk with my health, particularly when it appears at the level of account management and continuity I needed may only be available through the VIP service. I do appreciate the individuals who attempted to help me throughout the process, particularly Percy, his professionalism, responsiveness, and willingness to take ownership of the situation made a meaningful difference. My hope is that Embody can use this experience to improve communication between his medical pharmacy and Customer Service Team so that patients do not have to repeatedly explain their situation, especially when they are experiencing significant symptoms and looking for help.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed and constructive feedback regarding your recent experience with our care process, communication delays, and account management. We hear your concerns loud and clear, and we fully appreciate how stressful it is to navigate unexpected physical symptoms without receiving the timely medical guidance you were promised. Your detailed account of the disconnect between our customer service, pharmacy updates, and clinical support highlights clear areas where our internal handoffs must improve. We are pleased that your interaction with your account manager brought some resolution, clear medical direction to pause your treatment, and proper handling of your advance billing. However, we acknowledge that this level of attentive care should have been your standard experience from the moment you reached out for help. We would truly appreciate the opportunity to make things right and will be reaching out to you to gather more details. Your experience matters to us and we're committed to addressing your concerns. - Embody Team
