I have been trying to get life insurance money for my mother’s estate for 8 months now. John Hancock would lose something or decide another form was needed. 8 months have caused me huge lawyer expenses. I need to pay funeral expenses for mom. I have mortgage to pay. I have wiped out my savings trying to keep house. I need to sue them for extra expenses

I am currently still waiting on line with the John Hancock 401(k) help line. It has been over 45 minutes. After over forty minutes I finally reached someone who was hard to understand. I told them that my former employer sent me a request to contact them to close out a very small balance in my fund. After confirming my account, which required my SS# and birthday, they said that they did not have my address. This is strange because it was the same address I had with them since they started administering the plan. Then they told me that they could not update my address. They said that my employer would have to do so. I reminded them that the employer referred me to them. They are a total waste of time. It is a shame that they are allowed to administer people's retirement funds. I asked to be transferred to someone who could help. Before transferring me, the agent said "they will only tell you what I said." I have now been waiting almost an hour on their help line. I would give them zero stars if I could.

Every time I try to sign in to check my acct it say im putting in wrong username and or password im so frustrated with these people also try to ask them about financial support abd they never have any one that can help or say they dont have that option then why am I paying yall to take care of my ira in the first place I will be moving my money elsewhere and will never use john hancock again im so sick of this company good riddance

Complete obstructionism in claims. Maddening, you submit per their directions multiple times, and it's denied without them even reviewing. Have had to file formal complaints with State of MA, and BBB. Feel sorry for anyone elderly try to get their LTC benefits after paying their bills faithfully for years even decades. Shame shame shame on John Hancock.

After waiting on hold for 30min, I had an incredibly disappointing experience with John Hancock retirement customer services. I had been rolling over my retirement account from John Hancock to another provider. After my main distribution was processed, an additional $31.03 was deposited into my account at a later date. I contacted John Hancock to ask for this remaining balance to be sent to me so I could complete the rollover. Instead, I discovered that it had effectively been absorbed by their $50 distribution fee, leaving me with nothing. What was most disappointing was that there was no warning that this would happen. Had I been told that a late deposit of $31.03 would simply be consumed by a $50 fee, I would have made a different decision. A simple explanation or warning would have allowed me to avoid losing the entire amount. I called customer service, explained the situation, and asked whether they would waive or reverse the fee given these unusual circumstances. They refused. I understand that companies have fee schedules, but good customer service also requires some discretion and transparency. This situation could easily have been prevented with better communication, and I was disappointed that no effort was made to resolve what amounted to a relatively small but entirely avoidable loss. I will definitely never use this company again!

This is THE WORSE COMPANY EVER AND I PRAY THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY GIVE NOTHING BIT EXCUSES AND LIE TO YOU!!!!!!!!!! I TRULY TRULY HATE THIS COMPANY AND WISH MY JOB WILL USE FIDELITY!!!!!!

I have tried for 4 months to submit a claim fir my mother. She’s been paying on this policy, which is quite expensive for 20 years. Every call that I make is connected to a foreigner that goes by a script that insults my intelligence. I’ve had to ask him to please stop saying.”I understand your frustration and apologize” and then they continue to tell me what they just told me that didn’t make any sense. They do not answer your questions they put you in a cycle of script that makes you want to jump through the phone. In addition, every single representative you talk to tells me something different. They make it so difficult. I still am working on getting a claim approved. My mother has another policy, med America, that was so easy and helpful, and I even have my own personal representative that actually calls and checks in. They started the claim process four months ago without any issue. When you think about how much money thousands of people have been putting into a long-term care policy and get this kind of service is just wrong.

Their fees are ridiculous My employer Transfered $150 to an Ira account at John Hancock. After 15 day, I was charged a $15 account fee. I requested to roll the rest to a Schwab IRA. John Hancock charged $30 for writing the check. In sum. Out of $150, John Hancock took $45 a little less than 30%. That should be ILLEGAL. I did not even choose this company!!! I would have given it a zero if possible
