I was actually able to secure a job…but lost it and then ghosted by Jobot
I was actually able to secure a job through Jobot fairly quickly. During a family trip to California, I even happened to pass by their office in Newport Beach by chance—it’s right on the water. I remember taking a picture and proudly telling my family that this was the company that had placed me. After searching for over six months, I was genuinely grateful for the opportunity. I was officially hired on my birthday, March 3, 2026, which made the experience even more exciting. Jobot found me a medical assistant position that aligned well with my prior experience. The role was presented as an 800-hour contract in an orthopedic office, and when I discussed compensation, my recruiter, Bryan, was able to meet my expectations. That was both reassuring and encouraging. I started the position on March 16, was still in my training period, but was unexpectedly let go on April 14 without any prior warning. At the end of that day, Bryan called to inform me that I was not considered a “good fit.” He mentioned that he would follow up with more information, but I have not heard back from him since. I can’t help but wonder if this lack of communication is related to a Yelp review I posted about the orthopedic office. Although Bryan did briefly mention that he had other opportunities and would reach out by Friday the 17th, I never received any follow-up. Regardless of the reason, I believe a more professional approach from both the agency and the employer would have been to maintain clear communication, provide feedback, and keep me informed throughout the process. Even if a company decides to end a contract, transparency and basic courtesy should not be overlooked.
