I met with Steve Harper and he recommended Athene Annuity's which is a good low risk investment for anyone that doesn't want the risk of investing in the stock market. Steve is very knowledgeable and listens to the individual needs, instead of pushing anyone to buy something they may regret in the future.

I called the advertized number for J.D. Mellberg Annuities and was put in contact with Hal Hammond Asset Mgt. He called made an appointment to my home and in three meetings finalized my purchace and selection of what vehicle would be best for my goals. Hal and I hit it off very well as he acknowledged my 50 years if investing in the market and my knowledge of such. So it went smooth and easy as all my intricate questions were answered and Hal was informative but not pushy and seemed to understand my goals and what I wanted from the investment vehicle. I'm very satisfied with everything and now the test of time will further assure me that I made a wise choice in this particular allocation of certain assets.

After considering and investigating annuities for a year, Mehlberg brought it all together so I could easily understand it - that's why I bought the product.

From the beginning I had some idea what vehicle policies where out there from listening to financial talk shows to going to a couple of seminars and spoke to a few financial groups in person. But, it wasn't easy till one day on the radio I heard reasonable news about Annuities and so, I did some investigating on the web and found JD Mellberg video's on each individual annuity and what the difference is between them all and once I got the news on the Hybrid annuity-I hit paydirt and signed up for more information and immediately after received a call from a fantastic rep from JD Mellberg and set-up an appointment with my new financial rep. Mr. Steven Martinez of Steven Micheal Financial Group-He called and we set up an a appointment at my home. He was punctual and informative and was not pushy and gave me time to digest all the information and once I made a decision, I scheduled another meeting and Steven returned and he gave me about 4 different choices and I picked one company to go with and the rest was easy. JD Mellberg and Mr. Martinez helped me through a tough time and I made an informed decision and till this day forward I feel more at ease and a certain amount of confidence that I made a good decision. Jim set the appointments and was informative and on-time. The whole operation took about 3 weeks. There were the anxiety attacks, etc., but this is something I should have done 3 years ago when I reached 62 years old. I retired from the Texas Highway Department after 15 years, -they forced the issue. Which I should thank them for the kick in the rear. I will be doing contract labor in the future. All to my advantage. I simply couldn't take the 0.057% interest at the Credit Union or a 10 year CD at 1.4% anymore. It was sink or swim. I made my CHOICE! Yeah, I know about Greece, and Portugal, Spain. Etc, etc.,---what are you going to do? I did some research, talked to people, invested. I'm no worse or better off than the ups and downs of the 401K roller coaster. Standard gov bond 20 years ago would have yielded the same as the Stock Market! If it works out I'll have a steady income w/increases and leave my son a nice chunk of change. Now--- If the government, economy collapses I will be no worse off than the billions of other people. I was contacted promptly and an appointment made in our home which meant each time we did not need to drive, locate and spend our time and gas - he came to us. Our planner, Jeff Stupar could not have been more efficient, nice, prompt and helpful in educating us in annuities. Larry and I had considerable problems getting the 401k money into the annuity, but Larry stayed with me through it all, even some late night calling. The only bad experience I had with JD melberg was the number of planners that called upon me.
