Not Ready for Prime Time
Unfortunately, my experience with this company was disappointing. Both the technology and customer service fell well below expectations, leaving significant room for improvement.

Driving For J.B. Hunt Transport Services
During my employment with J.B. Hunt, I observed several compensation and operational practices that warrant discussion. Although drivers are compensated on a mileage basis, mileage calculations are determined by zip-code-to-zip-code routing rather than actual address-to-address travel. Consequently, drivers may accumulate a significant number of uncompensated miles when traveling between customer locations and the mileage points used for payroll calculations.
In addition, federally mandated pre-trip and post-trip inspections are required for all commercial drivers under Department of Transportation regulations. These inspections are essential safety procedures and must be documented appropriately. However, I was instructed by management that these activities should be completed before my scheduled start time so that the vehicle would already be in motion at the beginning of the start time. The work is also uncompensated. This expectation effectively shifted required work activities outside of On-Duty time.
Management also imposed a performance expectation of at least 400 miles per day. While such a target may be achievable under ideal highway conditions, the routes I was assigned frequently involved urban traffic congestion, construction zones, accident delays, and travel on narrow two-lane rural roads. Furthermore, company vehicles were electronically governed at approximately 62 miles per hour, limiting their ability to travel at posted interstate speed limits. These operational realities often reduced the feasibility of consistently meeting the prescribed mileage expectation.
On one occasion, I experienced significant fatigue and made the decision to conclude driving operations early in the interest of safety. Following this decision, I was called into a meeting and informed that failure to meet the daily mileage expectation in the future could jeopardize my employment. This response appeared to place production goals in tension with driver fatigue management and safety considerations.
I also encountered an issue involving my electronic logging records. A dispatch manager informed me that an error existed within the log system and that the issue could not be corrected. As a result, a violation of the federal 14-hour rule was recorded on my CDL driving record despite my belief that no actual violation had occurred. I was advised that I would have to accept responsibility for the discrepancy.
From a compensation standpoint, I typically worked between 55 and 60 hours per week. When total earnings were compared against hours worked, my effective hourly compensation averaged approximately fifteen dollars per hour.
More broadly, I found the organizational culture to reflect a highly rule-driven and compliance-focused management approach. Drivers were subject to extensive monitoring and oversight, including the use of in-cab camera systems. While such technologies are often justified as safety tools, the cumulative effect contributed to a workplace environment that I perceived as heavily surveillance-oriented and disciplinary in nature. Frequent references to policy violations and potential termination created an atmosphere characterized more by enforcement and fear of error than by professional development or collaborative support.
Ultimately, these factors contributed to my decision to resign. I concluded that the work environment, compensation structure, and management practices were not aligned with my professional expectations or long-term career objectives.

cog in the machine
I will start by saying JB HUNT is a very good Company, don't get me wrong. Some JB hunt account managers treat drivers with respect, care and more but others don't care, all they care about is money and the account looking good. The account that falls in this category is Bridgestone Account in Roanoke, TX, no wonder they are always pulling drivers from other accounts to do their delivery. They don't appreciate drivers who loves doing their job.

*** DO NOT BOOK WITH JBHUNT ***
*** DO NOT BOOK WITH JBHUNT *** , the Negligence to there duty, breach of contract and carrier neglect needs to be investigated by @FMCSA. I booked a PO TN TO TX delivering today at 6pm. Driver picked up ontime with an ETA of 1300 today, appt was switched to 1900 tomorrow without anyone reaching out adviseing nor confirming , the broker listed on RC hasn’t answered one time he is suppose to be the “Reprensative” , when I mentioned calling carrier relations somebody finally reached out and confirmed the new delivery appt without a reason why it was made and also advised we wouldn’t be getting paid a layover because the driver was late to pickup , which he WAS NOT I sent them a screen shot of the apps status where it shows Arrived Ontime green/clear as day, since then not another response from that person nor the *JB HUNT REPRESENATIVE*. I have been giving 3 different numbers that are out of service and when I do get someone on the line and ask them to trasnfer me to carrier realations they transfer me to a switchboard that doesn’t provide that option. JB HUNT needs to be cited by FMSCA for carrier neglect, and breach of Contract/Instructions , maybe this then would make them understand how serious issues like these can be and what kind of impact it has on smaller bsuiness owners. This is by far the worst experieance I have ever had with a broker giving my 20+years in this industry. Completely unproffesional . DONOT USE JB HUNT , unless really it’s the only option on the board. @FMCSA please look into this issue, jb hunt load # 7DL3739
***** DO NOT BOOK WITH JB HUNT < CARRIER NEGLIGENCE IS AT AN ALL TIME HIGH WITH THIS BROKERAGE****

Peloton Tread Delivery
Peloton Tread Delivery: Horrible experience all around. Wish I could give zero stars. They indicated they did not receive the pre-delivery information from Peloton so came with a truck that was too big to fit down my road and only two people to attempt to bring the Tread+ down a flight of stairs. So after taking off that morning, I had to reschedule for a week later. The second team came with an appropriate sized truck and team of 3. However, they left plastic wrap all over the machine, did not set up the machine. Overall, an extremely disappointing experience with unprofessionalism all around.
