So I just signed up...the tariff was stated at $19.95 for the month subscription. Imagine my shock to see my bank had been deducted exactly £75.22. Outrageous. Money we simply don't have to spare. Surely this is illegal? Maybe just being taken advantage of because I am foreign

JamPlay continued to take funds from my bank account even though i did not renew my subscription. They sent me an email stating: "Oh no! Looks like your 1 year JamPlay membership has come to an end. If you'd like to continue to access JamPlay, you'll need to head on over to your account area and add on a subscription: Click here to reactivate your membership. I did NOT "click" to reactivate, but they still took $159.95 from my account, for 3 years!! They told me that all subscriptions auto renew, but on their website it states that only monthly and quarterly subscriptions renew. And why would they email me asking me to 'click' to renew if it was auto renew? I changed my debit card but JamPlay reached out to VISA who helped them continue to take funds from my bank account...who knew VISA did that! JamPlay's business practices are deceitful to say the least

I've done some further research on this and believe this may have been a miss-communication due to a system error several years ago. We did have an e-mail notifying of account closure that was accidentally sent to a block of users. We did send a follow-up e-mail notifying users of that, however we certainly understand how that could be missed. They write you emails and tell you that you have a 30days-money-back guarantee. I wrote back twice and asked kindly to get back the money because jamplay just was not right for me. They did not reply to my email for the money-back-guarantee (i wrote twice) and sent me an automated email to upsell my payment-plan instead.

Bought annual lessons for a friend for his birthday. At no time during the purchase was I informed these charges would be renewed automatically every year and my credit card charged. They list this information on a page on their site with lots of legal language allowing them to essentially bury it. As a result, I was charged 2x and they refused to give my money back. Had they informed me of this during the purchase process all of this could have been avoided, but clearly that is how they get you. They are scam artists- avoid them at all costs.

Hello Cindy, I'm very sorry to hear how you feel. This sounds like a very frustrating situation. There is a notification on signup, in our terms of service and with the initial email that discuss that this is a recurring service and needs to be canceled in order to not renew your membership. I believe we have already discussed this through other venues, but in a situation like yours we would almost always offer a refund because it was an innocent misunderstanding. The problem we had with this situation is you came to us more than 9 months after the purchase, and our credit card processor only allows us to do refunds within 120 days. As mentioned via other means, I would be more than happy to give you a year of service that you can keep or gift, a gift card for 1 year you can use, keep or resell or would be open to any other ideas you might have. Signed up for a membership on Nov 1, 2019, and canceled on Dec 26.No refund issued and after several emails have finally been told I will still have to wait for a refund. If I had not checked my Visa statement they would have never issued a refund. I also had to provide them with a copy of the cancellation email I received before they would authorize a refund. So if I had lost this I was screwed. I would not recommend JamPlay to anyone.

Good luck on cancellation of the account once you start. I’m still being charged a month after I cancelled my account online. I received an email confirmation stated my account was cancelled. When I tried to contact them directly, I received a automatic reply stating they would be back on Tuesday.

The monthly membership does renew until you choose to cancel your membership. Cancellation can be done on the website, via e-mail or on the phone. Since it sounds like you believe you have been billed in error, would you mind sending me your account information to [email protected] so I can take a look at it? It would be of great help if you could send me the account notice you received when you canceled your account as well. I'ld love to help you get this resolved. Thank you. Edit: I do believe I found your account, and it does look as if it has been canceled and will not renew any further. I believe the issue that you had was because you had both a guitar and bass membership, and canceled the bass membership but accidentally left the guitar membership active which caused it to stay active and renew. If this is what happened, please let myself or customer service know so we can refund you for the unwanted month of guitar membership. Thank you.

Beware they will give you no warning that they are about to debit your card each year for the full amount, whether you are using the website or not. And they will not give any refunds when you receive your credit card statement and realise what has happened.

To shed a little light on this situation, you are correct that all memberships automatically renew until they are canceled. The good news is if you don't wish to auto renew, you can cancel your account immediately and keep all of your paid time, without having to deal with auto renewals. You are correct in that our renewal process is not based on website usage but rather the date of purchase and whether not you have chosen to cancel your subscription. With that being said, if you did not mean to renew and contacted us in a reasonable amount of time, I would be more than happy to take a look at your account and address this issue for you. I bought a one year subscriction last 27 april but, after few days I realized it was not for me, so I asked them I want to excercise 30days money back option. Over the course of last 7 days, I sent them 5 e-mail. No answer. Yesterday a friend of mine sent them an email asking about 30days money back for a new customer. They answered her very quickly: "all you need to do to take advantage of our 30-day Money Back Guarantee is contact us here within 30 days of your purchase". So.., why don't they answer me.....??? Since now, a very bad experience for me!!!

I asked our customer service manager Bradley Conway what is going on, and he searched and was not able to find e-mails from the name "Corrado Mazone." My guess is some sort of e-mail filtering is happening on one of our ends.
