Bad attitude and disinterest from JB & Assoc. customer service rep
Hi James. I had a brief zoom call with one of your associates, Joshua, today. Well, let's just say, this probably wasn't his day. :( Even though I clearly wrote down in my request what I seek help with, based on your YouTube videos, his first sentence was, "well, we can't help with that, we serve businesses", (in a surprisingly cold and disinterested manner), to which my first thought was, "then why did I rush home to make this zoom call and why are we having this conversation?" Then he proceeded to tell me that I won't be able to change my residential address with my bank unless I am in the US in person, which is false (I'm an expat, currently living overseas). In the meantime I'm not sure what he was doing but his eyes were darting all over the screen (either he was playing a videogame or was in the middle of an app/chat, not sure) and one had the feeling he was not paying attention whatsoever. There were awkwardly long pauses between his short sentences. Quite frankly, I don't think I've ever received such bad customer service here in the US. I give you permission to use that recorded phone call during associate trainings, to teach the new colleagues how NOT TO handle a case. Wish you all the best and better luck with hiring the right people. ~Kriszti
Response from James Baker & Associates CorpApr 2, 2026
Hi Kriszti, thank you for sharing your perspective. We take the quality of our consultations seriously and I have looked into your experience. Our discovery calls are designed to quickly determine if a person’s specific needs align with our firm's specialized business services. In this case, Josh correctly identified that your request fell outside our scope of service. Regarding the banking requirements, our advice is based on strict regulatory standards for the specific institutions we work with, though we understand other expat scenarios may differ. We apologize if the direct nature of the call felt dismissive; it is always our intent to be efficient with a prospect's time if we know we cannot be of assistance. We wish you the best in finding a provider that specializes in your specific residential banking needs.
