IXL's wording has been complicated to understand. I am unsure if it is my fault; however, when I was learning about Derivatives, the question didn't specify that it was for implicit derivatives, and therefore, I had many problems wrong. Even though the title does state thought, it would be a lot better if it were on the question as well. My classmates have also acknowledged that the wording of IXL is and has been complicated to understand. Due to this and that some of my quizzes are on IXL, it has given me a lot of trauma and anxiety. I was mentally stressed today at school due to that. Usually, I am very quick with math and a lot of questions are easy (because of Kumon), but with IXL, it slowed me done a lot because I didn't know how to write the answers and gave me a lot of pressure. It. Is. Pure. Torment. I am now officially traumatized, mentally stressed, and anxious. This is only part of what has happened with my experience.

As a student, I would not reccomended IXL. My math teacher includes it in her lessons every day, and I know that my peers and I have hated it for years. The website itself is very boring to look at. Some of the questions are way too hard and some are way too easy. Sometimes. I can get through a whole IXL with a Smartscore of 100 without doing any math at all and just using context clues. Other times, it will take me more than 3 hours to even get to a Smartscore of 80. Another thing, when your score is higher and you get a question right, you only gain 2-4 points, but when you get a question wrong, you can lose anywhere from 6 to 12 points. There are videos and lessons to help you when you're struggling, and occasionally they're helpful but the videos are visually boring and the voice narrating them is very monotone. This makes me not want to watch the videos so I struggle even more. The questions are also pretty repetitive and sometimes they barely make any sense. In conclusion, IXL is very boring and inconsistent and I would not reccomended it at all.

As a student, I absolutely HATE IXL. Most of the people I know hate it. There are over 200 students in my grade who refuse to do IXL because of how bad it is. Horrible smart goal, repetitive, and it's just boring. Our English teacher makes us do IXL everyday saying that it is mandatory. I wouldn't have so big of an issue with it if it gave us extra credit. But we simply have to do it just because. Which means, spending my time on a useless task that stresses me out more than a exam. (There are more questions on these torturous things than an exam or any test I have known.) The idea is an okay one but they need to figure out how to make it more engaging and fun, like kahoot.

im a student and i have been using it since 3rd grade, my schools have had this thing called SBAC and we use it for about a STRAIGHT HOUR, going on with the review here are 3 things about it 1: the unfair "smart" score system example: if you get a question correct you would get 5 points but if you got one wrong you would get 16 points taken away 2:the unfair challenge zone system if you got to 90 percent or higher it would go into a challenge zone where it would give harder questions, if you were to get a single question wrong, reset back to 80 or 70 3:bad tips most of the hints/tips if you fail a question are out of context and not useful, most of the times i skip them due to them being useless and a time waster IXL is a phonetical spelling of "i excel" meaning you would excel in learning by using it, that is wrong, my score is 2 grades behind my grade level, i am good at math, ixl will not see this, ixl will not change, it is hell it is absolute brain drain, high loss, low reward, i hate this app STAY AWAY FROM IT, AT ALL COSTS, IT IS A DISGRACE TO EVERY SINGLE MATH SITE EVER, IF ALIENS EXIST THEN THEY PROBABLY HAVE BETTER MATH SITES EVEN THOUGH THEY ARENT EVEN IN THIS UNIVERSE! i can literately feel my head compressing because of how much stress induces, keep your state or school away from it, i cant imagine what the kids in first go through, please, keep everyone and everything away, i feel like it was designed to keep kids 1. obedient and 2. stressed, it was tested to make kids stressed KEEP AWAY!!!!
