Makes it feel hard to learn
Alright, so I've had to use IXL since I was in 5th grade (I'm now in 8th grade). I feel like no one is truly using IXL to learn; we only do it because we are being told to by our teachers. Also, I must say that the Smartscore system is not fair at all at the beginning of the IXL you get more point usually around 10 to 15 and if you get a question wrong you lose around 1 to 2 points while when your smart score gets to 90 you earn 2 to 3 points and lose 7 to 10 points this is really frustrating and instead of motivating me to learn it makes me want to quit and look up the answers later. And the worst kinds of IXL's have to be the reading ones, you're telling me I need to read 8 paragraphs just to get 1 question right. I don't think any kids these days have an attention span for that, which is why they should try to adjust. If you have to learn with IXL with a learning disability, too, that would be super hard, and there is no way that you can try to have the administrator set it to a mode where that person can learn better. For example, my 10-year-old brother always has a really hard time with IXL because he has ADHD. This kind of "learning" is really hard for people like him. I really feel like IXL either needs to improve how it adapts to the kids or scrap the idea at this point, because it can be stressful in the end.
