My initial experience with IJL was good. The matchmaker representative was nice and completed my interview in a timely and professional manner. Then I was set up on a first blind date. I was not allowed to see a picture of my date, only given a few details about him and a brief physical description. I spent a few hours getting ready for the date and driving to the restaurant. I arrived and was taken to our date table where I waited for 30 minutes in a busy restaurant. My date did not show up nor did he call the restaurant to leave a message since we are not given each other's contact info. I emailed the matchmaker representative about how frustrating it was to have my time wasted and also how it made me feel scared that I had not seen a photo of the guy and that I wondered if he was potentially a fraud and trying to track/find me by setting up a date. The representative that was so eager to get me set up on the date did not even bother to respond to my email. Now I'm not sure which is worse, the date not showing up or the representative not even responding to my email to at the very least apologize for the date, tell me what happened, or pay me for wasting my time, energy, and money.

I do NOT recommend IJL. They give you almost no information about the person you will meet except a single photo. The first date they set me up with didn't have a college degree and was unemployed (two things I had explicitly asked for) and the second date just didn't show up after I'd driven 90 minutes to the restaurant. I explained to IJL that my work is politics and I can't be matched with someone who doesn't share my values, and they said they couldn't help me with that. The restaurant didn't have a record of a reservation either time. For the first date, we both drove many miles out of our way, which was entirely unnecessary. I am a busy professional, and the reason I paid for this service was that i thought they could save me time, but instead they have wasted a lot of my time and energy and no one has apologized. I could do much better for myself on a dating app. I want my money back and no one returns my calls or emails. The company’s response to me below is false. I have left phone messages and emails and no one has contacted me. This is an unprofessional company. STAY AWAY.

I originally signed up for It's Just Lunch in April 2022. I was assigned to Debra as my matchmaker, and she has been phenomenal. I am really involved in whatever I decide to participate in, and she is quick to respond to my e-mails/phone calls. I am in a relatively smaller market in the US which makes it a bit more difficult to find potential matches. Debra and the recruiting team has been willing to dip a few hours around my area to increase my chances. Thus far, I've been on five dates of which have been amazing. I only did not exchange numbers with one of my dates. I would say that it's a pretty good success rate. Now, I did read some negative reviews about IJL before deciding to sign up for them. They were relatively on the cheaper side of things all considering, and I wasn't really sure I wanted to even sign up for it. Rochelle did my initial interview. I remember feeling a little pressure when I was kind of going back and forth, but all she was really saying was "Let's table everything now, so we can make the best decision for both parties.".. which is a smart business practice. Would I sign up for IJL again? Probably not. I am in the military. I don't really agree with putting a membership on hold indefinitely if a member were to move to a market where there is no hub. I would probably go with a bit more expensive of a more personal matchmaker that does background checks and looks at the entire picture (kids, finances, political view, religious view, etc) When I meet someone at a date, I would love to know that all of the deal breaking boxes have been checked. You don't really find that with IJL. Overall, Debra has been awesome, and I am very thankful for her.

Amy and Jeff are genuine, knowledgeable and passionate about the business of matchmaking. My experience with IJL the past several months has helped me improve my perception of the world of dating and hopefully I will find a good match.

Marina has been great! She’s engaging, takes the time to understand what you’re looking for, and personalizes the IJL experience.

I have not been introduced to one person of substances. I am looking for someone of my same caliber. Someone who’s interested in being in a long term relationship, not looking for just a sensual encounter. I’m very disappointed with the money I’ve spent and the results I’ve seen.
