They pose themselves as a normal bidding site but in fact they not. I get scammed into buying credit into your account and you start off by bidding on some items. Mostly all people run out of credit to bid as you pay X bid credits per bid without noticing it. When you run out of credit you go research why and you find out in their terms and conditions you get buying credit for your used bids. that would be ok if you could buy something at a reasonable price but their items for sale are about 400% more expensive than Ebay. and on ebay you get free delivery but on madbid you still have to pay delivery on top of an item that costs 400% more.

After having read a review about the site in one of the papers and its ads on television i visited the site and saw some closed auctions with attractive prices. So thought of trying my luck. First you need to buy some credits to bid. Its almost 10p one credit. It looks cheap on the face of it. However you feel the pain once you start bidding. The site advertises say for Iphone which is priced about £600 for bid. The bid starts from £0.01 and for every bid that one person puts it gets incremented by £0.01 and the person loses 8-9 credits at one go which is like 80p to £1. So every bid that you put, you get poorer very fast by that much amount. For popular products, there is some aggressive bidding and it does not make sense to go after such products (Apple, Samsung, Dyson products) Couple of time i have observed that one product which was sold off and it was not there in the 'Upcoming auctions' list being put for bid again. This could mean that the site has some psuedo users who bid for the product and buy the product which is again put back for auction! Sometimes i have observed that if you dont bid in time (say about 2-3 seconds are there for the bid to be put in and you dont do it) then it closes off immediately. However for some products even if you put the bid very late when it shows 'Checking...' and the bit is about to close it still accepts your bid. I wonder if the site does this purposefully or is it just a system lag. On top of all this you have to wait so much for the bid to progress (since the bid gets incremented only by £0.01) its kind of wastage of time and mental harassment!! Some popular bids progress for days and days The pathetic thing about the site is that it does not show all closed auctions in the 'Closed Auctions' page. Only those auctions which have closed at attractive prices vis-a-vis the cost of the product are shown. This shows that the site is not transparent Anyways I have learnt the lesson not to rely on such sites. Lost some money but nevertheless not much compared to others who have given reviews in this site

As I said hopefully you are smart and are reading this review before parting with your hard earned cash......if your are not then you know that all the reviews about Madbid are correct and you will be writing a review yourself. its a cleaver scam but falls within the guidelines of hiding that fact. So if you want to part with your money give it to a charity.....you'll sleep better. The other issue I have is where does the money go and what does it fund....just saying.

1- You won't secure any bid from Madbid 2- don't add fund 3- Ignore them and stay away.

I was bored one night and saw an advert for Madbid so I decided to buy some credits £100 just to see what would happen I understood how it worked and started to bid, that all went fine then I didn't use it for a short while when I logged or it didn't recognise my details I emailed them and after emails to and from different people I decided to give up so my advice is be careful.

I went on there to find a deal on a laptop and found you had to load money before you even started! stupid idea...

it's a scam! don't do it!
