Just why?! This thing is bat crap and it needs major improvement. Firstly, I heard news that IReady exposed someone's password and it is very greedy and all it wants is money, money, money. Secondly, the diagnostic is pointless and the grading system is horrible. An 8th grader completing preschool work is wild! They are basically calling you dumb in the nicest way possible. Can we also talk about how IReady makes you complete a lesson that took you 30 minutes all over again? Like, come on! They don't even go over what you got wrong. And ALSO, I forgot to mention that IReady ruins people's mental health. They get low self esteem because of this edtech. Also, the pointless breathing exercises. They just make me more worried. When I got introduced to IReady Pro, I thought it was gonna be a major improvement for me, but I come to the realization that there is no difference between the original and the pro version. That's all I have to say for now.

The i-Ready platform stinks
The i-Ready platform, while designed as a tool for personalized learning, has increasingly become a source of significant academic and psychological strain for students. Instead of fostering a love for learning, the system’s rigid structure, repetitive nature, and high-stakes pressure often contribute to a "broken" educational experience that can negatively impact a student's mental health. The Problem with Gamification and RepetitionOne of the primary criticisms of i-Ready is its reliance on extreme repetition. The system often forces students to repeat entire lessons if they fail a single quiz, leading to a "loop of frustration." For many students, this creates a sense of helplessness. When a child feels they are stuck in a cycle they cannot escape, it triggers burnout and resentment toward the subject matter. The "gamified" elements, intended to engage, often feel like shallow rewards that don't compensate for the tediousness of the tasks.Performance Anxiety and ComparisonThe Diagnostic assessments in i-Ready are a major source of anxiety. Because these tests determine a student's "level," children often feel their intelligence is being reduced to a single number or a color-coded bar. This creates an environment of constant comparison. Students who struggle may feel labeled as "behind," leading to a blow to their self-esteem and a "fixed mindset" where they believe they are simply incapable of improvement. The "Babysitter" Effect and IsolationIn many classrooms, i-Ready is used as a digital "babysitter," replacing meaningful human interaction with screen time. Learning is a social process, and the isolation of staring at a screen for hours can lead to feelings of loneliness and disengagement. When the primary feedback a student receives comes from a pre-recorded voice or an animation rather than an encouraging teacher, the emotional connection to education is severed.Mental Health ImplicationsThe cumulative effect of these factors is often a rise in school-related stress. Students report physical symptoms of anxiety—such as headaches or stomachaches—specifically when it is time to log in to the platform. The pressure to meet "minutes" or "lessons passed" quotas turns learning into a chore rather than a journey of discovery. For students already dealing with neurodivergence or learning disabilities, the rigid "one-size-fits-all" algorithm can be particularly punishing, exacerbating feelings of inadequacy.ConclusionWhile data-driven instruction has its merits, the current implementation of i-Ready often prioritizes metrics over the well-being of the child. A system that measures progress through frustration and mental exhaustion is fundamentally flawed. For education to be truly effective, it must support the emotional and mental health of students, rather than sacrificing it for the sake of standardized growth charts. This is why i hate it iready

All Iready is is just pure brain rot
All ready is is just pure brain rot. I mean it is just so confusing and painful to go through one math lesson. The reading lessons aren't any better either. They are way to easy and it makes it hard to complete it because I have done it so many times. It's also just so repetitive and glitch. There site dosent even work. Also the diagnostics are SOOO boring. And the "brain break" in the middle is so stupid. It it very poorly designed and doesn't help at all. I don't think any of my peers or other kids in school. It's some stupid breathing exercise. And also the lawsuit of them selling student data and all that crap. They are a terrible company that doesn't know how to teach kids. Bye.

NO MORE SOUL!
The soul was removed the second they changed everything to Iready Pro. Even if the characters were *slightly* embarrassing to be seen watching, it could be easily communicated that it was schoolwork, or practice, or anything. This new update just feels like the CEO or whatever's bratty kid decided they didn't like the characters.
