InstaworkReviews of instawork.com

There aren’t many opportunities on the site in my area. Most I have to travel far for. Another thing I don’t like, they penalize you for cancelling a shift but if you cancel with enough time then later find out you’re able to make it, you cannot rebook. It’s also not easy to contact anyone for assistance. It is quick money if you’re looking for work but the pay is subpar to me as well.

The location services demand wastes the battery. The location is incorrect in Franklin, MA, so we need to go to the parking lot to check in. It’s eerie not speaking with real people. Also, I can’t select the number of days I’d like to work when it’s all 20 days or nothing. What if I can to 16 of them?

I would give it 5 stars if there were more well paying shifts available . I have been a professional chef for the last 25 years of my life and find most of the work on here unchallenging. As far as the app and the company are concerned I think they do a fantastic job of managing a lot of people and am grateful for their continued hard work

The app is great as you can find immediate work once you register and complete filling out your profile and work experience. There are a lot of great hard working people I have met since picking up shifts do instawork. But that’s about it sadly. This app is heavily automated and basically runs itself most of the time. There are many things this company must improve on, such as lower fees for the Instapay feature which charges a 5% fee just to get your own money so even if you make more instawork takes more of your hard earned money. Many other apps charge a flat dollar amount which shows more appreciation towards worker's payments after a shift is complete. It was also very demoralizing to learn that Instawork basically “steals” a large amount of the hourly pay for shifts. An example would be a partner paying instawork 18 dollars an hour for a shift yet, Instawork takes around 3-5 dollars an hour of that hourly rate so a worker on the app is actually only earning 12 or 13 dollars per hour. This is very greedy on Instawork’s side :( since the app is basically running itself yet is taking large cuts do better!

Did not get paid for my full shift on Feb 19, 2026. Retail Odyssey. Heard back throught chat they working on it but that was 6 days ago. It heard resolve issue when I cant speak to anyone.

Takes too long to get my money not enough jobs closer to me

The gigs have been just fine, it’s just that Instawork customer service is nearly non existent. It shouldn’t take two days + to reconcile a payroll issue

I worked a shift that I STILL have not been paid for. I’ve submitted over 4 separate claims, and each time I do, I am told that I am being transferred to a specialist and that my wait time is 4 hours, but I have NEVER been contacted by a specialist. There’s no customer service number for me to call and your automated system for customer service is poor. Add true customer service with a phone number and a real person to talk to. Your AI system is not adequate. Aside from that one incident, my experience has been good. However, for one incident, it is a major problem and issue.
