InGenius PrepReviews of ingeniusprep.com

What made my experience very special was how helpful the staff was. I personally had Ben, and he was amazing, not only with helping me for my application but providing advice and comforting me when I knew I was under a lot of pressure from my parents. Danielle was amazing as well, as she helped look over my essay and application, making sure it was in the best shape possible! Could not have done it without them!

The advisors were professional and supportive throughout my application season. We set a clear plan, and they guided me step by step. Highly recommend.

I am a parent and do not recommend this company for college admissions whatsoever. During the middle of application season, my child emailed their former admissions officer (FAO) to ask for advice, and the emails kept bouncing back. Strange since we had been in touch with the FAO fairly recently. We later found out that this employee left the company and we never received a proper explanation. Same thing happened with their graduate coach (GC) later on. We found it very disrespectful that the company did not give us advance notice during the busy application season. Seems like IGP has high employee turnover in general, which reflects in their lack of commitment to students. Moreover, I found the advice we were given to be generic and unhelpful - my child could have done the same level of work on their own. InGenius Prep preys on anxious parents to purchase expensive packages with limited results. Absolutely not worth the money.

I really appreciated by team and what they've done for me. I'm not the most organized person so I really appreciate the check ins and scheduling that allowed me to have everything ready and submitted on time. The feedback was very constructive and the constant support made the whole process a lot easier.

We are beyond grateful for the guidance and support that Ingenius Prep offered our daughter throughout the college application process. Her advisors took the time to really get to know her and were instrumental in helping her select colleges that were well suited to both her career aspirations and her hopes for college life. They provided invaluable feedback on her essays, helped showcase her accomplishments, and provided moral support when the process felt overwhelming. We are especially thankful to Romie and Ryan for being so detail oriented about each and every detail of our daughter's applications. They set the bar high and, in the end, my daughter was rewarded with acceptance to her dream college. Their guidance will truly have a lasting impact on my daughter's future and we are deeply thankful.

The support was extremely helpful especially in deciding which schools to apply to and how to answer each of their questions. The essays are a lot of stress so having someone who is experienced instructing you and guiding you helps a ton!

Kndeya Gebrawahed was such a responsive, knowledgeable counselor. He helped me with everything in my college admissions process from picking schools to apply to to brainstorming ideas for my personal statement to revising my activities list. I don't think I would have survived this process without him. He gave me so much peace of mind (since I had someone to answer all my questions about applying to college), in addition to concrete suggestions for ALL my admissions materials. I would highly recommend his expertise and help to anyone looking for a college counselor!

This company focuses on marketing and as salesmen, not on quality service. Their counselors quality vary greatly, with inconsistent quality for their writing counselors and FOAs alike. The FOAs especially are lazier and more inexperienced with little to no mentorship on application materials even though their one job description is to be strategic advisors to maximize the applications. The writing counselors don’t offer anything beyond simple edits, but their services charge more than industry standards. They also switched counselors with us many times which worsened the issue further, and the last set of counselors/FOAs only met with us once a week and once per 3 months respectively. Even with inexperienced counselors, it’s one thing if they are inexperienced and they let us know, but Ingenius will present them as the “best they know” and you won’t find out until weeks later because they only do 1 meeting per week at best. Very inflexible, and with the many counselors they had us switch, the inexperience ones were not only under qualified but also lazy and won’t put in the effort to even have basic communication unless you constantly check in. Some counselors also have full time jobs, leaving little time nor flexibility and the company will not let you know in advance that they are part time. Overall, the experience was subpar with a high price tag. Find local based American counselor/strategists instead, 1/4 of ingenius’s price tag and 4x better quality with more individual attention to students. I’d give -5 stars if I could.
