iMarku knives have manufacturing units based out of Japan. Our CEO, Mr. Mark Liu had started around a decade back. The story dates back to when one of his friends Bolton had a pretty frustrating time looking for a perfect chef knife. That is when he made up his mind to create something to make good knives. He had started young, went to Japan to learn more about Japanese art and culture to start making these Japanese knives. He had initially chalked out a 5-year plan, but things initially did not turn out as planned. He almost felt like quitting, but his girlfriend named iMarku kept on inspiring him to keep going. And that is how the brand came to be known as iMarku.Today iMarku has come a long way from making a single chef knife to an amazing range of world-class knives, prep tools, and cookware. And the story of our growth continues. We are only growing with bigger and greater plans of expansion.

This is an update to the review I posted on June 3: I did eventually get an email back from Emma in their customer service center. Apparently part of the delay is that they are on the other side of the international dateline and perhaps also different days that are their "weekend" so I did not get a response as quickly as I am accustomed to. Emma was very nice and quite apologetic for the delay and for the wrong knife being sent in the first place. It looked to me like a labeling error in their warehouse, but she got it sorted out and sent me the correct knife quickly. She also told me I did not need to return the first knife that was sent in error. Between the time I left my first review and the time I heard from Emma, I had tried calling the customer service number again and the person I spoke to was so frustrated. He said that he is a soldier and this number is ringing to his personal cell phone, even though it is not the same number. He said he gets many calls from people trying to reach IMARKU and he doesn't know what to do about it. I let Emma know about this situation, and she said she will work on getting their technical team to trace down the problem -- so maybe this poor guy will get some relief, also! At any rate, my experience with IMARKU ended up being more than satisfactory, and I would definitely recommend these beautiful, high quality knives. I only changed my original rating from 1 star to 4. I would have given a 5 based on quality and Emma's service, but I figured that 4 stars was appropriate given the length of time it took to get a response. If they are going to market to the Western Hemisphere, they probably should make it clear on the website how long people should expect to wait for a response. Either that, or have staff who checks emails on their weekends if they coincide with our weekdays. The following is the first review I posted on 6/3/2022: I called the customer service phone # on the website and it was answered by someone who clearly didn't want to talk to me. I was rudely ordered to send an email. I did send an email, with pictures documenting the problem (the wrong knife was sent). Although the website says they will answer emails within 24 business hours, it has now been two days since I sent the email with no response. There is some urgency about this (from my perspective) as the knife sent was supposed to be a replacement for a knife in a 16-knife set in which there was a duplicate of the 8" Chef's knife and the 7" Santoku knife was missing. The replacement knife received was also an 8" Chef's knife, even though it was labeled as a 7" Santoku knife. This is supposed to be a Father's Day gift, so I need it taken care of pretty quickly. As for the knives themselves, they are beautiful and I'm sure my husband will love them if I ever get the 7" Santoku knife to complete the set.

Did not realize steak knives were serated. Wanted straight blades but I do like the knife set.

I received 2 10” knives ( apparently I accidentally clicked twice!) The knives are very nice, but are a bit large for my small hand. I need to return them if possible, but need information as to the proper procedure to do so. Do you have the knife in an 8” size? If so I would like to exchange one of the larger ones for it, and get a refund on the extra knife. Thank you, R. Martin
