Dr. Damania is an incredible educator with such a passion for teaching. His genuine care and interest in the success of his students shows especially in his private tutoring. I used both his HYGuru course and private tutoring to study for my Step 2 CCSE exam. His course material was an incredible review and his approach to NBME style questions was invaluable. It really helped me gain confidence in my abilities and learn how to tackle the exam. In addition, his use of Notion to make a personalized study schedule and give me tasks for the day really helped with giving structure to my study day. I would highly recommend Dr. Damania and the HYGuru course.

HyGuru was an incredible resource that I found mid-way through my step 1 prep. Dr. Damania gives clear and concise explanations as opposed to test bank long answer explanations as well as gets students to think critically regarding test questions. I appreciated his tying in various related topics all at once, distinguishing between common systemic pathologies and what would make one scenario the more likely presentation as well as tying in the physiology behind the pathology. Lastly, he always has helpful mnemonics- I still remember PTH= Phosphate trashing hormone, among others for all of those pesky arrow questions that are bound to pop up on exams.

HYGurus (Rahul) methods, approach, empathy, passion, expertise, knowledge and commitment is second to none. He is not just a tutor, medical practitioner, or mentor -- he is an abundance of invaluable life knowledge that you cannot put a price on. There is no word to encompass the luck of his name falling into my lap. I failed more times along my medical education than I did succeed, and sure that if I had found Rahul sooner, my life would have been different for the better as I would not have struggled nearly as much on exams, which dictate so much. However, after my second board exam failure, spending almost a decade on my education and journey to getting my MD, feeling like everything was coming to an end, I found HYGuru. Sure, this may seem like a drastic review, but feeling like my career and dreams were coming to an end was drastic; and finding someone who helped me receive not only a passing score, but one of my most competitive scores on my Step 2, that I am now receiving interviews with just enough time at the end of the interview season, to hopefully have a chance of everything I've worked for...come to fruition... is invaluable. You found the right person if you're reading this review. Do not look any further. Rahul worked tirelessly in coming up with new methods to try, ways to challenge my thought, develop my skills as a test taker, and it was a difficult process for the both of us, but he never gave up on me because my future meant more than a test score to him. HYGuru is far and few between, if at all exists in other places, and your future truly depends on finding the right fit, which is here. His ability to adapt to his students is unheard of. The anomaly is that he continues to further his education and knowledge, and his willingness to expand his depth of wisdom as much as your needs may be, which is difficult to find. I pushed him as a difficult student, and he never backed down or gave up on me, and I owe my highest board passing score to him, and quite frankly my opportunity to have a future in medicine, as well. Thank you my friend, Rahul. I will forever be grateful for you!

This is a high quality course. As an international medical student I didn't have English classes focused on the USMLE. I already watched videos for other known sources but the 'USMLE Step 1 Pass/Fail Course' from Dr Rahul Damania is beyond my expectations. He knows how to integrate the content very well and he recalls many times all the high yield information in different ways (what makes easier to learn). He also does a lot of integration and I am just so thankful for that. I feel that that is how it should be (and how my mind works). The course is very organized. Each video that you complete the blank circles are filled and your scored start increasing. This gives me a sense of accomplishment. Also, he adds many questions throughout the videos and ask us different things. I love that!! It helps my tired Bain to keep engage and learn faster. In this final stretch to take my STEP 1 exam I feel more calm because I know that I am reviewing all that important. The course gives me confidence that I can achieve my goals. It's exceptional to have a teacher that you can see that is passionate about what he does. I love that he also recorded him while doing the course so makes it more personal and fun. He has a happy face that is contagious, be aware 😅 The way that he thinks through the Step 1 study is a way that JUST MAKES SENSE! And he gives so many tips about how to study and even stops for some deep breathing exercises. I’m learning so much and increasing my score, finally! I understand not everything may work for everybody, but I don’t have a doubt that is working for me. It is something different from what I have seen out there. It’s not just a bunch of info. He makes you curious to learn. It is worth the try!
