Dr. Damania’s teaching style and ability to turn evidence-based learning into practical, easy-to-implement strategies for studying, reviewing questions, and performing on exam day are truly unmatched. In addition to using his courses, I attended his One-Day USMLE Performance Bootcamp and genuinely gained more from those 6 hours with him than I have from any other resource. I left with the clarity and direction I’d been searching for for so long. Time and money WELL spent!

I used HyGuru Prep for both Step 1 and Step 2, and for Step 2 I had the opportunity to work specifically with Dr. Damania. I honestly cannot thank him enough for how supportive he was throughout my Step 2 journey. There were definitely moments when I felt overwhelmed, discouraged, or unsure of myself, and he was always someone I could reach out to. He was incredibly accessible, patient with all of my questions, and consistently reminded me to trust the work I had put in and keep going. What meant the most to me was how much he genuinely cared about my success. I never felt like I was just another student or another score. He took the time to understand my strengths, my weaknesses, and even the things I tended to overthink. His encouragement felt personal, and having someone believe in me during the moments when I struggled to believe in myself meant more than I can really put into words. Looking back on my Step 1 and Step 2 journey, I’m incredibly grateful that HyGuru was part of both, and especially thankful that I had Dr. Damania in my corner for Step 2. Beyond everything he taught me academically, I’ll always appreciate the kindness, reassurance, and genuine support he gave me throughout one of the most stressful parts of medical school. I truly felt that he wanted me to succeed, and I’ll always be grateful for that.

HyGuru’s Step 1 and Step 2 courses are the best money I’ve ever spent. It was easy for me to learn the content required for USMLE exams, but sometimes I struggled to connect the dots on high yield topics. I had gaps in my knowledge that I wasn’t even aware of. After struggling to get practice exam scores in a range that I wanted, a colleague mentioned HyGuru. Once I tried out the course, my life was changed! My scores went up by 15 points! Dr. Damania does an amazing job at clearly explaining concepts and bridging content from all clerkships in order to give students a well-rounded knowledge base. His test taking strategies helped me stay clear-minded and focused during the long testing day. I was able to clearly differentiate between topics that were crucial to passing the exam. I owe a large portion of my success to HyGuru and I will forever be grateful to him for everything he has done!

Dr. Rahul is more than a tutor! Not only is he incredibly brilliant, motivating, and dedicated, he’s also a kind person. He woke up early to meet with me; he integrated unexpected life changes into my study schedule; and he kept me focused and on track despite everything I was going through. He’s taught me lessons that will last through residency and of course he’s taught me strong medical foundations. His Step 2 course is also amazing and well worth the money - he teaches test-taking strategies on top of medicine concepts. But his tutoring is unparalleled. I would spend every cent again and more! I wish I found him sooner!

Coming into medical school from a non trad background, my experience with frequent high stakes exams was minimal. Many of my methods to doing well in M1/M2 and passing Step 1 on the first go, relied on memorization which did get me very far. Step 2 required methods beyond memorization which Rahul transformed my understanding of how to approach this exam. His methods are excellent and really help you understand the why for all your answers. I stopped relying on what I memorized and started processing why we were doing a CT scan, etc. His spirit, professionalism and utter joy for seeing students succeed is contagious. You can’t help but look forward to your sessions with him and getting 1% better everyday. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to prep for any high stakes exam during medical school and beyond. This man is the real deal.

Dr. Damania is genuinely invested in his students’ success. When I first started working with him, I was scoring around 218 on Step 2 practice exams. As we continued meeting, I steadily improved and eventually began scoring in the 250s. Dr. Damania fundamentally changed how I approach exam questions. He taught me how to slow down, recognize what a question is truly asking, and reason my way to an answer rather than simply relying on memorization. That approach didn’t just improve my Step 2 performance; it changed the way I take tests and think through clinical problems, and it is something I know I will carry with me throughout my career in medicine.

I listened to many of the high-yield systems review videos, even during my drives, and HYGuru did such an incredible job putting them together. I was impressed by how he kept students engaged throughout an hour-and-a-half-long review while maintaining the same energy and focus from beginning to end. He also explained concepts so naturally and clearly, without unnecessary filler, which made even long reviews very easy to follow. So many of the high-yield concepts that were emphasized appeared on my Step 1 exam, and there were several questions where I specifically remembered something HYGuru had taught. The videos can be long, but he makes them well worth your time!

I attended his Bugs & Drugs live review and it was the most helpful course I have taken so far in regards to microbiology and pharmacology. I have struggled with these topics throughout my first year of medical school and now feel like I understand them a lot better.
