Context: I made it to the end of my dedicated period with only improving from mid 40s to mid 50s on NBMEs. I had tried almost every resource suggested to me by my institution (ANKI, Pathoma, UWorld, First Aid, Youtube videos) and wasn’t experiencing the same type of improvement as many of my academically-similar peers. I completed the HyGuru USMLE Test Taking Strategies & Productivity System (would recommend doing this first) and the HyGuru USMLE Step 1 Pass/Fail Course. All of the courses were very well-organized and progressed through material in a systematic way that I was missing from ANKI and UWorld. I also attended one of Dr. Damania’s COMP & CBSE Review weekend seminar courses. However, the most influential part of my experience was consistent 1-on-1 tutoring with Dr. Damania that targeted my question-approach weaknesses and test-taking strategies. He was able to quickly identify components of my study tactics and test-taking within minutes to hours that had been holding me back for months! If you want a tutor that only clocks in for your hour long sessions, Dr. Damania is not the tutor for you. Dr. Damania goes above and beyond to personalize every intervention at his disposal with detailed preparation for the tutoring sessions and intentional follow-up after meeting. He frequently checked in, even during my “off-weeks” from tutoring, and made sure that I was still on track with the plan we had established. My family is an incredibly essential part of my support system, and he found ways to include them in this process, even personally reaching out to them help structure the best plan for my needs. The webinars were exceptionally well-structured and useful. I found the content to be high-yield, delivered with clear, straightforward explanations that made complex topics easy to grasp.

What really stands out about HyGuru is that learning is suppose to be interactive, it's supposed to be layered. Dr. Damania is able to take complex scenarios and break them down into whats important to treat patients in real life and for most of us, what to look for when approaching STEP/CBSE questions. He approaches the question both from the perspective of the student, but also the perspective of the test makers - this opens up new avenues in which to approach questions which has been an incredible tool. So many times I have gotten questions corrected based on his courses, and thank you to my peers who SWORE by him and now, i get to swear by him too. You won't regret this purchase (also so much cheaper than any massive qbank or personal tutor).

I’ve been using the hyguru courses since studying for the CBSE. I utilized the weekend review courses for my step 2 preparation. I recently passed my step 2 exam, 10 points higher than my practice exam scores! The hyguru courses have been a Foundational resource since the beginning my exam preparation. Dr. Rahul explains the pathophysiology in a manner that is memorable and helps deepen your understanding for not only a successful test day but improves your patient care on the wards.
