My boyfriend and I have had a few pairs of Humps sunglasses so far. I really do love their styles and the fact that they have good options for my small face. I've had mirrored lenses which held up okay for about a year or two but then they start getting scratched and losing the mirrored coating by virtually nothing. However, for the price, I didn't mind ordering more as I just haven't found anything else that fits me as well. I just went on to order 2 pairs under their BOGO offer. Even with the discount, the total price has more than doubled since my first order in 2020. Over £20 for shipping and taxes is just ridiculous. It would've been okay if I knew they would last for years but for this quality it's just not worth it any more.

I bought from humps optics a couple of years ago and the glasses cost approx €20 and were great quality. I went to buy from them again and the same glasses are now €66 because of crazy shipping and taxes being added. I understand inflation is alive and well but this goes against their “affordable yet stylish” marketing.

Pros: One of the few sunglasses companies at this price point that gives meaningful guidance on fit according to facial width. I think this is one of the most important aspects of aesthetic outcome. They didn’t spend a ton on the box and sock the pair comes in. I don’t mean this sarcastically. It’s all going to be thrown away, just let the money I spent go into decent shades. The lens seems to be at least decent. Generally I think they make a nice looking pair of sunglasses. Cons: The poor quality of the frame is immediately apparent. The brackets are loose and the plastic has a cheap feel to it. It becomes immediately apparent that you aren’t holding a pair of raybans. They are of generally low quality construction Bottom Line: I’d probably buy them again. If you’re like me, my sunglasses typically don’t make it a year before getting lost. The price point is a nice compromise for something that looks good and gets the job done as far as lens quality. I just wish the frames were of better construction

I finally figured out what has "killed" my brother's and my Humps lenses - salt water. We are both surfers, constantly around salt water, and occasionally our glasses get wet. My glasses did the same thing my brother's did after they got some ocean water them - mass amounts of "scratching" on the exterior of the lenses. This is actually just the coating of the lens coming off. After this started happening on my second pair of glasses, I tested my salt water theory by going in the ocean the other day and rubbing the outside of the lens with my thumb. The coating comes right off! So while that is the extreme of what you do with your sunnies, I now know why these glasses have not lasted for more than a few months. I don't know if other (especially more expensive) sunglasses have this issue, but I've never seen it happen as fast as it has on Humps sunglasses. I think it's up to the consumer to decide whether or not you want to put your money into something that isn't going to last very long around salt water, as I'm just providing my experience. The customer service team has been great at replacing them quickly just FYI!

Horrible customer service! Ordered sunglasses two months ago and still didn’t receive it. Company told me to keep on waiting two weeks ago and ignoring my emails since. Don’t waste your time and money with this company **Update: received my sunnies after 2.5 months- still customer services could have been more attentive.**

I just received my first order of sunglasses and so this is a first-impression type of review. I'll update if things change for me. I bought a pair of the classic purple sky mirrors for my work. I am a field biologist and I work in the southern California desert; I need both high-quality eye protection and a sturdy design for a low price. At first glance, Hump Optics seems like a good choice. As soon as I recieved my order (which took over a week to ship to me, not the 3-5 business days I was promised), I attempted the durability test seen on so many of their ads. I (very gingerly) twisted the frame and attempted to pull the temples apart. They do not feel any more flexible or sturdy than any other pair of sunglasses I've worn. The plastic is light and thin, so they don't weigh very much. It doesn't feel like they'll survive getting run over by a bike as promised in their ad campaign. In terms of fit, they are light and comfortable, but the temples are a little longer than usual for a pair of women's sunglasses and so will take a little getting used to. However, they are very, ah, clingy? They stay on your face pretty well. I hung my head upside down and shook my head vigorously and they stayed on. We'll see how they hold up to sweat once I get back out into the field. They are very stylish, too, which is nice. Overall they seem like a nice and light pair of sunglasses, an okay value for the price.
