About HPP Cares

HPP CARES CDE is a California nonprofit HUD Approved consumer credit, debt, and housing counseling agency. Our organization understands the challenges the average consumer faces when it comes to being overextended with financial constraints such as debt. Knowing this, we are committed to educating consumers with an emphasis on financial literacy. Our certified HUD Approved housing counselors provide personal assistance through budget counseling, housing counseling, and debt management strategies to lower interest rates and monthly payments. We can address the issues at hand by improving access to credit for low-to-moderate income and historically underserved communities (BIPOC) households through qualified programs that identify and support them. These include but are not limited to affordable housing, homeownership, small business technical assistance, financial literacy, and economic development, ultimately establishing the framework needed for sustaining communities, neighborhoods, and households. It is unfortunate that in 2022 essential skills regarding the management of household finances are lacking in K-12 education. A lack of financial literacy leads many consumers to learn these lessons the hard way, putting them in difficult positions that can be tough to recover from. To further address existing issues, our agency implements the latest multilingual technology bridging the divide to ensure consumers from any background have access to the resources and knowledge they need to make sound decisions and better their financial situations.

Thank you, the HPP Cares Team!
Miss Katherine Peoples is excellent and knowledgeable. Our account manager changed hands thrice since December 2022, and we now have Denys Rivera. He is always prompt and responsive when we have any questions. He was very attentive, helpful, and patient with us and answered all of our questions that arose throughout the process. We are so grateful to him and to HPP Cares! Genesis Rivera has been very supportive and pushed paperwork through with excellent efficiency.

Great Experience with HPP Cares
Our experience with HPP Cares and Denys has been outstanding. He is always prompt and responsive when we have any questions. Once Denys took over our account the continuity between HPP Cares, the contractors and us has been seem less, as information flowed on the project was clear and concise. We appreciate HPP Cares leadership on this project.

HPP Cares are great partners for ADU's
HPP Cares has been a great organization to deal with. They've gone above and beyond in explaining how their grant process works and how to navigate it successfully. Our account manager Denys Rivera communicates with us frequently and always answers our questions in full. We're excited to continue our ADU journey with them and highly recommend them to anyone who could benefit from their services and expertise!

Thank you Denys and HPP Cares!
We had such a great experience working with HPP Cares especially with Denys R, our account manager. We had some issues that came up which were out of his control but he remained involved and advocated for us. He was very attentive, helpful and patient with us and answered all of our questions that arose throughout the process. We are so grateful to him and to HPP Cares!

I found the process complicated… but rewarding. Good people made that happen
I found the process very complicated but staff more than made up for any frustration. Diana and Denys and Joy were very helpful. They even cleaned up a last minute mistake to help me complete the process.

Genesis is fantastic!
I’m thank for the assistance Ms. Genesis was able to provide. She took initiative in addressing my needs and proved to be incredibly knowledgeable and patient.
