About HPP Cares

HPP CARES CDE is a California nonprofit HUD Approved consumer credit, debt, and housing counseling agency. Our organization understands the challenges the average consumer faces when it comes to being overextended with financial constraints such as debt. Knowing this, we are committed to educating consumers with an emphasis on financial literacy. Our certified HUD Approved housing counselors provide personal assistance through budget counseling, housing counseling, and debt management strategies to lower interest rates and monthly payments. We can address the issues at hand by improving access to credit for low-to-moderate income and historically underserved communities (BIPOC) households through qualified programs that identify and support them. These include but are not limited to affordable housing, homeownership, small business technical assistance, financial literacy, and economic development, ultimately establishing the framework needed for sustaining communities, neighborhoods, and households. It is unfortunate that in 2022 essential skills regarding the management of household finances are lacking in K-12 education. A lack of financial literacy leads many consumers to learn these lessons the hard way, putting them in difficult positions that can be tough to recover from. To further address existing issues, our agency implements the latest multilingual technology bridging the divide to ensure consumers from any background have access to the resources and knowledge they need to make sound decisions and better their financial situations.

Gabriela Sandoval Is amazing!
Recently I worked with Gabriela Sandoval. She was amazing, very kind, caring and extremely helpful. She was able to stop the foreclosure of my house. I am so grateful for this program and specially for people like Gabriela who cares and has the abilities to make a huge difference in people’s life.

The entire team at HPP Cares is amazing. Diana Chan is so helpful and kind. She is knowledgeable and does what she says she will do!! Brittany, my account manager is also an outstanding professional, smart and can definitely be counted on! I'm blessed to have had the opportunity to get the grant and I couldn't be happier that I chose to go through HPP Cares.

Omar is extremely helpful, patient and kind. Each time I speak with him, he does more than just answer my questions, he gives me additional information that helps me understand this whole escrow/invoicing/building process. Today, he also offered some encouraging words, knowing that construction can be stressful but will eventually be rewarding. He's done all of this, even though he's not my account manager. Omar is an amazing rep for an amazing organization. Thank you for all of your help Omar!

HPP Cares has really evolved to make this process easier for participants to work through all of the questions, potential pitfalls, and financial situations ADU builders could run into during this process. I appreciate the help I have received from my Account Manager Nancy Ruiz. She gave me options to think about and provided documentation about the process that I never knew to ask about...
