Good service and vps.

Purchased a unmanaged VPS account. 24 hours later had problems with the instance not being available. I forget the exact error message (something like "error finding isntance"). I contacted support via chat and gave them the exact error message displayed on the instance details page. The support person I worked with had said that this was something that happens from time to time and that they could do something and the instance would be available soon. I waited a few hours and tried again successfully. Ultimately, support took care of the issue swiftly, but for a new customer, this had me second guessing my choice to go with Hostwinds. I was drawn in by the flexible VPS options, but if this is a sign of experiences to come I would definitely pay a bit more elsewhere for a smoother experience.

Your VPS is not very stable and the ping/speed differs from time to time. Customer service is very good in answering my question, I'm pretty satisfied. If Hostwinds can provide higher quality line like CN2 GIA for China users it will be very competitive, but not realistic in short term maybe.

It was good, I just wish there were more info up front about whether or not a domain name is included, how much they cost to reserve and point, etc.

can't destroy the instance and establish another one if the ipv4 address was blocked after I have bought this VPS.

I have been with Hostwinds for a few years and they are always willing to help. They have been very friendly and very helpfull to me over the years. Thank you Hostwinds.
