Been using HostforWeb for over 20 years. their VPS server / site went down. After 3 weeks: Unable to restore service, unable to restart / rebuild server, Then they say "Sorry, we don't have a backup" WHAT THE HELL ?????!!!!! ------------------------------ In reply to response below: 1. Why no server backups of ANY kind? 2. Why was I kept on a legacy server ? ( contract renewed very recently ) 3. After reporting server issues 38 times in last year, ( and support making me jump through lots of stupid loops ), Host for web STILL DIDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE CORE ISSUES! >>>> 22 Year of my website lost! <<<

I've been a customer for something like 18 years. Lost track, honestly. Dedicated server. They've made a solid chunk of change with literally no expenses for years now. My card didn't run a month ago (problem with the card). This has happened over the years a couple of times when the card expired or something. We always get both emails as well as the server suspended if no response from us. This time, zero emails - they claim they sent them, but there is (and can be - more in a moment on that) no proof. They didn't suspend my account. Instead, the server was indeed suspended (after a month of lapsed payment) - the moment it went down, I logged in, saw the problem, and immediately updated the card and paid the balance. Didn't matter. They purged my server. My customers are now without their sites. I have no access to backups. My own ecommerce site is now gone - including all the customer data, products ordered, etc - I have their money and no idea what to ship them. THEY PURGED AND DESTROYED EVERYTHING. 18 years of loyalty. 18 years of data. 18 years of my business. Gone, poof. PROVE you emailed me, HostForWeb. Oh wait, you can't - everything is gone. Smooth move. At this point, stay away from them like the plague. Heaven forbid there's an error. I will be getting my lawyer involved on this one.

Been with HostForWeb for over a DECADE. They have changed their corporate policies! They have violated our privacy rights and sold our information to government agencies without our consent. New policies are totalitarian as they have on multiple occasions locked us out of our business email accounts even though no violation of policy, or crime has ever been committed. We have stood for health freedom which this administration hates and has targeted our small family. To see H4W cave to political corruption is completely disgusting. We have proof that H4W customer support provided to us is run by a 3rd party, never delivering the same support as before.

Had the worst experience so far, server kept going down and takes them several hours to try and fix and so far haven’t been fixed yet, so I’m switching.
