I have been impressed by the quality of the products, and the excellence of the service. Although the shipment was delayed, and I was not notified, I called the company and they shipped the product overnight with no extra charge.

I have used Horton Brasses for years on many fine pieces. From period pulls, to high quality hinges. My only complaint is the quality of the mortise locks have gone down a bit. Not so much the mechanism, but the outside faces/edges and corresponding grinding/finish. Some are perfectly square, others need some filing to create square and true corners and faces.

High quality hinges. My only complaint is that the leaves of some are slightly warped along their length. I presume this will correct itself when I screw them to the cabinet and doors.

The products are great especially where many of them are available in several finishes. My recent order had an item back ordered. This was not evident at the time of order on the web page or the shopping cart. While they fulfilled the BO within a week, the notice of the second shipping had the first invoice attached with tracking information of that rather than the BO item. This is all small stuff but the BO management could be a little tighter. This is still one of my go-to sites.

Was the comparatively high cost of both the item and its shipping justified? Do options for finish and attachment styles offer choices that one might be willing to pay for. Probably not if you are mass producing, but for a one-time quality job on a real period piece, this turned out to be fully justified. Delivery was quick, everything was as specified in the order and there was an included contact for further question. Sure, it was worth it.

The product received was fantastic. The brass hinges included steel screws to protect the brass screws and I could get slotted screws. I do plan on ordering again. Arrived to the Midwest in 2 days. Sent request email go no response but the requested catalog was included in package. The packaging was not strong enough to survive the post office and some screws tried to fall out and the catalog has black marks. Probably mostly the post offices fault but I was very lucky not to have damage.
