This is a review directed at my recent interaction with horizon hobby. Got a rtr Capra, came with a stx3 transmitter. Steering return spring broke and eventually lost use of steering and throttle. They sent me a slt3 remote on warranty The slt3 does not have channel 3 end point adjustability (among other small other features) which I needed to get my dig working. I asked them about it and they said “Unfortunately you will need to purchase a different transmitter. The warranty only replaces like for like. If the included component has been discontinued (stx3) then we can only send out the equivalent and not an upgrade.” Why would you be telling me to buy a different transmitter if you sent me an equivalent? I asked this and offered to send this back and pay the difference for something that would work as intended by them for their product. That said “Unfortunately, we have no further recourse.” They were unwilling to make things right. I was dealing with Joe from Horizon Hobby customer support. I dealt with Bill on a light bar issue in the past and the original remote issue, he was very good. Not sure if Joe is the entire issue here or just a puppet. Take it as you will. Update: they recommended I stop using the slt3 (nothing wrong with it) to avoid damage to my Capra transmission. Still refuse to admit it isn’t compatible or help in anyway. Another update: After alot of emails trying to argue that the slt3 isn’t compatible they made things right for me and sent me a DX3 which is now allows me full function of my Capra. Happy with the end result but took a lot of time in debate.
