I ordered a set of losi aluminum shocks from racechoice RC for my losi nascar and did not receive the plastic spacers for the top mounts of the shocks in my package. I fought with that company for two days and they said horizon hobby had sent out many packages of the losi los-1931 Aluminum shocks with half of the packages missing the spacers! They gave me such a hard time getting the missing parts from my order that I turned to Horizon hobby for help which was much worse. First email I got from them was "why not just return it from where you bought it". If I could have I would have but again Racechoice RC gave me a hard time. Going to leave a review about them on here as well. Needless to say Horizon hobbys chat is worthless, email is slow and condescending and you get absolutely no phone support. I own many of their products so the support for my RC cars are non existent in my experience! Very unhappy with this company!

Hi JG,
We are concerned at your report and would like to get some more information to review our communication with you.
Regarding the ordering/payment process, funds are only taken when the item physically ships, and based on your account, it sounds like the first part of the order was shipped and billed correctly, but when the backordered item arrived and was ready to ship the payment method then declined.
It's possible something else is going on, but we would need to identify your account to investigate. We are using the request-more-information feature of this website to get some more info and hope to hear from you soon.
Best Regards,

$500 ARRMA Burned Out in 2 Minutes – Buyer Beware
UPDATE – August 14, 2026
I’m updating my original review because Horizon Hobby has now contacted me and sent replacement parts. I appreciate them doing that, and I want to be fair and acknowledge that they did eventually make an effort to help.
However, it does not change my overall opinion of this purchase or make me satisfied with how everything was handled.
I spent around $500 on an ARRMA RC vehicle through Horizon Hobby that is advertised as “Ready to Run.” In my experience, it was more like “Ready to Fix.”
The vehicle burned out within approximately 2–3 minutes of its very first use. It wasn’t modified or abused before the failure. I barely had an opportunity to enjoy what I purchased before I was dealing with a broken RC vehicle.
When I originally contacted Horizon Hobby, I expected a replacement or the ability to return a brand-new product that failed almost immediately. Instead, I was told a return wasn’t an option, and the replacement part I needed was on backorder.
My order was delivered July 4th. Roughly a month went by while my $500 “Ready to Run” RC vehicle sat unusable.
After getting nowhere with the situation, I decided to leave detailed reviews in three different places describing my experience. After those reviews were posted, Horizon Hobby contacted me and replacement parts were sent.
I can’t say what happened internally or know for certain what caused them to reach out when they did. However, from my perspective, it felt like publicly sharing my negative experience got a much quicker response than my original complaint as a paying customer. I wish the same effort had been made when I first contacted them rather than roughly a month later.
There’s also something I think potential buyers should understand about the resolution: they sent me parts to repair the vehicle myself.
I’m a customer, not an RC mechanic. I didn’t spend around $500 because I wanted a repair project. I bought something advertised as “Ready to Run” because I wanted to open it, drive it, and enjoy it.
While installing the replacement parts, I ended up stripping the final bolt near the motor/gears. I accept responsibility for stripping that bolt during the installation. But this is exactly why I’m frustrated with the resolution. I never expected to be disassembling and repairing a practically brand-new $500 RC vehicle that failed within minutes of its first use.
I shouldn’t have had to look forward to figuring out how to repair my new RC car. I wanted to look forward to playing with it.
I understand defective products happen. My issue isn’t simply that I received a defective vehicle—it’s the entire experience afterward. When something this expensive fails within the first few minutes, I believe the customer should be taken care of quickly instead of spending weeks waiting for parts and then being expected to perform the repair themselves.
So yes, Horizon Hobby eventually contacted me and sent the replacement parts, and I appreciate that. I’m not going to leave that information out just because I’m unhappy.
But it doesn’t erase the month I spent unable to use my purchase, and it doesn’t change my opinion of the overall experience.
Based on what happened to me, I still cannot recommend this purchase. Anyone considering spending hundreds of dollars on an ARRMA through Horizon Hobby should understand what the warranty process may involve if something goes wrong.
For me, “Ready to Run” turned into “Ready to Fix” within 2–3 minutes.

Terrible shipping
Terrible shipping. It takes weeks for orders to ship. Will no longer do business with Horizon hobby
Response from Horizon HobbyJul 31, 2026
Hello Patrick,
We are sorry for any inconvenience you may have experienced with a recent order shipment.
When placing an order, we recommend checking that all items are in stock, as backordered items can delay shipment. We also offer several shipping options during checkout, including expedited services if you need your order sooner.
While we do work hard to process and ship in-stock orders as quickly as possible, once a package has been handed off to the carrier, delivery times are outside of our control.
If you have questions about the order or need any updates, please reach out to our support team. We'd be happy to help.
Best Regards,

We went to Oshkosh Airventure and got…
We went to Oshkosh Airventure and got my step son an RC Truck. He charged the battery to complete fullness the first time, within 20 minutes the battery was dead. He then was driving it then the wheels stopped spinning. We went back to the Horizon tent because we had the warranty. The guy there, Zack, was HORRIBLE! He ripped the receipt from my fiancés hand and was yelling at him saying my step son was too rough with it. My step son drove it 3 times in 2 days because the battery died after 20 minutes of driving it and then (what we assume is the clutch either went out or the gears striped). They wouldn’t even look at the car to tell us what was wrong.

Hi Lindsey, We could not find an account with the name on this review, but please reach out to our Product Support team via chat or email and we'll be able to help you get the truck up and running.
20 minutes is normal run-time for many RC cars before the battery needs recharging, but the "clutch or gears" issue you mention needs resolving.
We also like to learn more about your interaction. We're unaware of anyone working there named Zack, and hope to make sure you and every customer is treated with the same care and respect everytime.
Sincerely
ZZ

Do not buy from them. King hauler showed in stock on 7/6/2026. Placed the order along with the parts like battery and servos. Order was for my kid’s birthday and all parts arrived within a week. The tractor suddenly said backordered. It showed next shipment in July.
Contact them second day via online chat, Michael B answered and said now it is expected to ship in August. Well why would this place put something backordered as in stock to begin with. Cancelled the order and they do not pay for return label for the parts and said it is customer’s problem. If you check on the website now, it says December 2026. What the heck am I going to keep the parts for if tractor is not here? This website is a scam. Do not order from them.
Response from Horizon HobbyAug 5, 2026
Hi ZZ,
We completely understand your frustration, especially when you placed your order while the item was showing as in stock, only to have it go on back order afterward.
Unfortunately, inventory can change very quickly, particularly with highly anticipated products. While the item may have been showing as available when the order was placed, the available inventory can be committed to other orders before your order is fulfilled, which can result in the order moving to back order.
We are working to improve how inventory availability is displayed on our website to provide more accurate information and help prevent situations like this in the future.
We understand how disappointing this situation is. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding.
Sincerely,
DR

Horrible with communication…
Please do not count on any product being delivered on time or even within seven days of their promised delivery date. I bought floats from my airplane with plenty of time to have them delivered before my vacation. With zero apologies or efforts to communicate, they still have not arrived, and I am already back from my vacation and still no product. Horrible communication.
Response from Horizon HobbyJun 25, 2026
Hi David,
We are sorry to hear you haven't received the parts you bought for your airplane. We are not seeing any issues with shipping that would delay order to the extent you mention and would like to look into this further.
It's possible the item(s) were on backorder and have not yet arrived, but there is not enough information in this review to identify your account.
Please respond to the Request for more information we are submitting through this site and we'll be glad to get in touch with you and help figure out what's going on with your order.
Sincerely,
WI
William
Worst hobby shop ever
Worst hobby shop ever! They allow their smaller retailers to talk to you like trash: they do not stand behind the products they have build. I have been lied to over the last 3 weeks saying they would make it right I still haven’t seen my parts for a junk Losi sprint out the box.
Response from Horizon HobbyMay 22, 2026
Hi William.
If you're having issues with your Losi Sprint car we would definitely like to help get you up and running. We'd ask that you reach out to our Product Support Team directly for assistance.
There is not enough information in this review to find your account and we are using the 'request information' feature of this site to request your information to look further into this for you.
